130 Christmas Cards for Seniors!

Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.

The Glory of Christmas #88 – two or more pattern papers

SidebarglorykleinerThe GoC Design team is challenging you to make a card using two or more patterned papers. I used two patterned papers from my stash and layered them with my image. The snowman stamp is called, “Gilmor” by Whipper Snapper Designs. I hand coloured him using Copic markers, then fussy cut him out. The sentiment is a pre-printed vellum tag by DCWV.

The C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 286 – 20th of November – Inspiration Picture  - “Zoo” theme. I have a number of wild animal stamps and dies in my stash that have not seen the light of day for some time and I felt this would be a great time to bring them out. I created a sentiment to go inside the card that reads “It’s your Birthday, Go Wild!”.

1) Stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured them with Copics

2) Fuzzy cut them out and set aside

3) Die cut the coconut tree and added a touch of shading with Copics

4) Embossed the blue background with Happy Birthday folder

5) Cut (freehand) the foreground green

6) Die cut grass

7) Assembled card (5 x 7)

Products I used:

Stamp – Day at the Zoo by Recollections (Micheal’s brand)
Stamp – Jungle Animals by Whipper Snapper Designs
Die – Die-namics Palm Tree by MFT
Die – Grassy Border by Lawn Fawn
Embossing folder – Crafter’s Companion

Man’s Best Friend (Woman’s too)

Challenge #34 over at Cardz4Guyz is  ’Man’s Best Friend’. I love dogs, and have a number of adorble puppy stamps. Snowman and Snowflakes

I was busy coloring last month, and I thought I would make up a few cards today with my stash of images. This happy fellow is called Snowman with Snow Words by Whipper Snapper Designs. I coloured him with Copics, fussy cut around him, embossed the card face with folder from Stampin Up, added some gems, removed 1.5 inch of the right side of card, hung snowman over edge, and added a slice of patterned cardstock to the inside of the card to finished him off.
