C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 402 – 9th of February – Recycling

DTbadgeThis week we challenge you to recycle something on your project. I like to try to recycle Christmas cards. For this challenge, I used Christmas cards, ribbon from gifts, and gift wrap. I used a funny little Beaver stamp called, “digi9802 Fresh Cut Tree Digi-Stamp” by QKR Stampede for cards 1-3, and Card 4, “Cocoa and Friends”, by Whimsey Doodle. I coloured the images with Copics, fussy cut them out and layered them on recycled Christmas cards, wrap and ribbon.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 66 – Fun/Humorous

SidebarglorykleinerThe Glory of Christmas Challenge 66 wants you to make a humorous or fun card. That card that makes you smile! I chose “Peas On Earth” by Whimsey Doodle. I coloured the image with Copics. I added a little stickles to the hats. I layered it on various papers from my stash. I also used some metallic thread for accent.

humourOur challenge runs from August 23 until September 4th. Please join us!

Can you believe Christmas 2014 is just over, and we are looking at making cards for Christmas 2015. Mind you, this is a great time of the year to buy your Christmas supplies as they all on sale!

I created the Perfect Christmas Helper using Whimsey Doodles – Deer Friend. (Funny thing…I bought my G-son a hat just like this when I was on my cruise to Alaska.) I love his larger than life candy cane. I coloured the little gent with Copics and added glossy accents to his Candy Cane. The brown tone papers are from my stash.

Christmas Baking Part 2 – Kraft vs White

I decided to try to make this card in a pencil coloured, kraft card stock version vs a Copic coloured white card stock one. Both cards are similar yet have a completely different feel. I used 2 stamps from Whimsey Doodle – Ginger and Cup, and Cocoa with Friends. The sentiment is from SSS. I used a snowflake embossing folder, twine and plaid paper for the background.

Christmas Baking Part 4 – Easel Card

For my fourth and final card of the gingerbread series, I made an easel card. I used the Ginger and Cup Stamp from Whimsey Doodle. I printed him on both dark kraft and white card stock. I coloured the mug with Copics, cut it out, them layered it on the kraft. I used stickles for the “icing” and fussy cut the little Ginny out. Next I cut a 5.5 x 5.5 card. I layered a new Christmas patterned paper by Kaiser that looks like a floured wooden counter top. I scored a diagonal fold and attached the cookie. I decorated the inside of the card with the same paper, and added some hand coloured cookies from Tremendous Treats: Christmas Stamp Set by PI.  To hold the card open, I used 2 gingerbread brads. The sentiment is from SSS.
