Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.

Please note: The Challenge Owner is dealing with some personal issues and has just notified us that she is closing The Glory of Christmas Challenge vs letting someone else take the challenge over. This will be the last challenge posted. I would like to extend my personal thanks to everyone who has entered our challenges, and to thank all my fellow Design Team members.
I picked this challenge. I keep white, off-white, and kraft card stock on hand for my card bases however I don’t often use kraft card stock for Christmas cards, thus the focus of the challenge. For the images of this card I used retired Waltzing Mouse – Way out West. I have only used this stamp set once back in March 2014 (see my first attempt here). When I was looking for inspiration, I looked through a old Paper Crafts – Holiday Cards & More Volume 8 magazine. I saw a card made by Tara Cardwell and made a similar version so I can’t take credit for the design. Here is my adaptation. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used various Distress Inks, Hero Arts-Black, and Versamark with gold embossing powder.
This week, The Glory of Christmas Design Team challenges you to make a card with more than one fold. There are many designs to choose from: Easel, Shutter, Tri-fold, Gate, Step and many more. For this challenge, I opted to make a couple of Box Cards.
Card 1 – Vs me trying to explain how I make my box card, I will refer you to a wonderful Tutorial by Dina at www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/popupboxcard/ or simply search Google. I used a number of cats from Newton’s Nook, Glitter snowflakes & Stars from my stash. You need a special envelop for this card 5.5 x 6.
Card 2 – Is a smaller box card. I followed the directions from cardcrazy09 on You Tube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-DdtZfohyc For this box card I used various snowflake dies – SSS, Waltzingmouse, Memory Box, PI and Paper Smooches. The images are from Paper Smooches and Dilly Beans Stamps. This box will fit an A2 envelope!
Our challenge runs from October 18th until October 30th. Please join us!
For this week’s challenge, the CRAFT Design Team challenges you to make a white themed card with only the image coloured. Our used our sponsor, Dragonsmoore Spyder’s Other Corner’s image – Smiley Snowman Digital Stamp 4116. I coloured him with Copic markers and added some white die cut snowflakes from Memory Box, SSS, and Waltzing Mouse. The sentiment is from JustRite. I also added a few white pearls because I couldn’t help myself.
Please check up the wonderful images at Spyder’s Other Corner…you wouldn’t be disappointed.
Please join us. Our challenge runs from April 9th until April 15th.

I love these wonderful little spacemen stamps so I decided to made a couple of fun space themed, “I love you” cards.
I started by making the night sky using a great technique demoed by Kristina Werner on her blog. Vs trying to tell you ho it was done, please check out her blog here. Once that was done I stamped and coloured two spaceman stamps: Hambo - Space Boy Set and Paper Smooches – Space Cadet with Copic Markers. I then fussy cut them out a set aside. I heated embossed two sentiments – Waltzingmouse – Half Pint Heroes & Paper Smooches – Space Cadet. I assembled the card.
I entered my card(s) into the following challenges:
AAA Cards – Love, love, love
