52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge – 52CCT44-19 – Technique Challenge – Watercolour

The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge is a Technique Challenge. We would like you to make a card using watercolours. I used stamps from Penny Black – Birches, Winter Branches, Festive Snippets. I first stamped the trees birch trees with Versafine Black. Next, I stamped a row of background trees by Tim Holtz in Sage Distress Ink. Using Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Vintage Photo, Sage) and water I painted the background trees, birch, and sky. I used a snow marker texture pen for the snow. I added a sentiment and taped the image on the front of the card. I used Ranger’s Tim Holtz Watercolour cardstock

Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge 441 – winter fun

CHNC blog button DT

The CHNCC this week is to design a Christmas project showing winter fun. What is more fun than getting outside and building a snowman? I used a stamp from Papertry Inc. called Winter Hills, and a snowman digi stamp from Dilly Beans stamps called 523 Heart Snowman. The sentiment is from MFT. I coloured the images with Copics, added some Stickles, and added some snowflake stickers from my stash.

52 Christmas Card Challenge – 52CCT20-19 – May 25th – Technique: Eraser

This week we at 52 CCTC are trying a whole new technique to me. It is called Eraser Technique. For examples of this technique and the instruction check out the Eraser technique (herehere and here). So I started with a blank A2 card and MFT’s Snow Flurry Stencil. I secured the stencil on my craft matt using masking tape. Next, I took a piece of sandpaper and brushed an HB pencil across it making lead dust. I used a clean distress ink sponge tool by Tim Holtz and picked up the dustings and ran the tool across the stencil leaving leaded snowflakes across the card. I stamped Penny Black’s, Snowy on the card. I then erased any snowflakes that showed on the stamped area. The final step was to colour the little snowman with Tombow markers in grey tones. The only colour I used was on his cheeks. The sentiment is from SSS.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 511 – 25th of April – Distress your project

This will be my final card I make as a member of the C.R.A.F.T. Design Team. It has been a fabulous 4.5 years and I will truly miss working with Jo and her wonderful team. The C.R.A.F.T. challenge this week is to distress our project. I used a SVG digital file simply called Ice Skate card delightful cut by Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I downloaded the project to Cricut Design Space and cut out the pieces. Before assembling the skate I distressed and inked each piece using the Tim Holtz distress blade tool and Distress ink. Vs using the circle holes for the skate, I opted to use my We R Memory Keeping Eyelet punch and used twine laces. I added a Merry tag by Kaisercraft.

This week, the DT at C.R.A.F.T. are looking for a card with an added charm. I am using a simple mistletoe digi from Dr. Digi. I placed the Copic coloured digi inside a die from Find It Trading – Precious Marieke Die – Spirit of Christmas Snowflake Circle and added a metal charm by Tim Holtz from my stash.
