C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 416 – 18th of May – Christmas

DTbadgeWe are half way through May and all the gardens are running late. While we had a mild winter it was really long! So creating a Christmas card now seems very appropriate! For this week’s challenge, I selected an adorable puppy stamp by Pink Gem Designs called, “Christmas Charlie.” I coloured the puppy using Spectrum Noir markers. I added a little clear Wink of Stella to his hat and scarf, glossy accents to his eyes and nose, and Stickles to his hat’s pom-pom. For the background, I used Tim Holtz’s Sweater embossing folder by Sizzix because the “knit” patterns of the scarf/hat matched.

52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – Technique – Shaker Card

 CCT - Design For Badge

One of my favorite card techniques is making a shaker card. I don’t make them as often as I should because they require lots of time and I have issues with getting them proper glued together. I purchased a fun village snowglobe thinlite die set by Tim Holtz called Snowglobe. When I started on this project the dies looked simple enough…NOT! There seemed liked a thousand little pieces, and vs cutting them out in various coloured card stock, I decided to cut them all out in white Neenah 80lb card stock and either ink or use my Spectrum Noir markers. This “simple” card took me over three hours to make! But it did turn out very nice. I am sure if I was to do it again, I could shave at least an hour off my time. The sentiment is from MFT, and the Stitched Snowflakes are from SSS. The  sequins are from Taylored Expressions.

This challenge will last for the whole month of February 2017 – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas – it doesn’t have to be a card, you can link any project as long as it’s Christmas!

Once again this year, all of these monthly challenges are being generously sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - a winner will be randomly chosen using random.

Christmas is a special time of year. If you are fortunate to live in an area with snow it is truly a Winter Wonderland. For this challenge I used my Penny Black - Christmas Cottage stamp. I used my Derwent Watercolour Inktense pencils. I added Tim Holtz’s Stickles accents to the snow. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Simply Create Too – Challenge 121 – CHRISTMAS COLORS

Simply Too Create DT

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I would have my home decorated for Christmas 365 days a year if I could. I should own one of those Christmas stores! I have lots of stamps and dies, but over 50% of my stash is Christmas. For my card, I selected this adorable little angel by Lili of the Valley stamps from the UK called Holy Light. I used paper and stickers from my stash. I coloured the image with Copics and added some Stickles.

angelOur challenges runs from October 18th until November 11th.

Old World Santa

Today I made an old fashion vintage card for the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #217 {Retro/Vintage}

I started with my new Tim Holtz’s Rubber Stamp HOLIDAY COLLAGE Santa made by Stampers Anonymous – #U2-1106. I stamped him in black, then using antique linen, vintage photo, and brushed corduroy distress inks I blended the ink to the center. I used paper from my stash, including DCWV’s burlap paper for texture. For added fun, I  used some red stickles to accent the holly berries.
