This challenge will last for the whole month of March 2017 – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas – it doesn’t have to be a card, you can link any project as long as it’s Christmas!
Once again this year, all of these monthly challenges are being generously sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps
- a winner will be randomly chosen using random. Bugaboo Stamps
are proud to sponsor this challenge – they are offering $21 of digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.
I got this wonderful little stamp called Christmas Joy
from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I coloured the cardinal using Derwent Inkintense pencils. When I finished him I felt there was something missing then it hit me…Snow! the branches need snow! I used both a glitter based snow product, and a white pearlized paint. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. I switched up the papers to change to overall feel of the card.
Please support our sponsor. Bugaboo stamps add new images weekly. They also have great sales and weekly freebies so you can try them out!
Note: Hazel also runs two other challenges -
For our technique challenge, we are asking you to create a card with a sunburst/starburst detail. I create the sunburst design with a sun die by MFT called Die-namics Sun Ray and paper pieced two yellow card stock. The manger image is a rubber stamp from Hambo called, “Manger”. I coloured the image with Derwent Inktense Watercolour pencils. The sentiment is by Sweet n Sassy, “Jesus is the Reason Christmas Sentiments Digital Stamp Set”.
Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.

For this week’s challenge, I chose to use the larger snowman stamp from Sweet n Sassy - Snowman Soup. I opted to make both a vertical and horizontal version of the card. I stamped the snowman on Neenah Solar White card stock, as well as on patterned paper. I fuzzy cut out the hat/sweater and glued it on the snowman which I had previously coloured using Spectra Noir markers. I used papers from my stash. The sentiment is part of the stamp set. I also added a few gem embellishments.
Please join us. Sweet ‘n Sassy have a fabulous line up of digi and clear stamps and matching dies. Please support our wonderful sponsors.
I picked an adorable stamp by Sweet n’ Sassy called Joy to the World. I coloured the image with Copic markers. While I have the matching dies, I fussy cut out the images. For the background, I used Frantic Stamper Precision Die – Corner Sun Rays Quilt Panel. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
I entered this card into:
