Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge Extra – Mid-April 2017

chnc-challenge-extra-dt-button

This challenge will last for the whole month of April 2017 – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas – it doesn’t have to be a card, you can link any project as long as it’s Christmas!

Once again this year, all of these monthly challenges are being generously sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - a winner will be randomly chosen using random.

Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge – they are offering $21 of digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.

For my card I used the Sizzix Bigz XL Stocking Gift Holder Steel die. I cut the stocking in non-Christmas patterned papers to gave it that elegant feel. I added bling from my stash, and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I mounted the stocking on a Christmas themed card. The card dimension is 5 x 7. I made two different cards using different papers.

Note: Hazel also runs two other challenges -

Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge - a weekly “themed” Christmas Challenge & Craftyhazelnut’s Patterned Paper Challenge - a monthly Patterned Paper Challenge

Announcement! Proud to join the 52CCT Design Team

CCT - Design For Badge

I am very excited to be joining the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown Design Team starting in 2017. I have been a fan of their card challenge and now to join their team is pretty exciting. I made a card to honour their current challenge – Pick a Previous Challenge and for my card I used Theme – Christmas Critters – from October 2016.

I challenged myself to break out my dies, punches, patterned papers, etc. I picked up a great die from Sizzix called - FOX LABEL FOLD A LONG Thinlits Die Set. I made him a white/silver fox and the inside sentiment is from SSS.

Red, White, and Green – Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

This week over at Holly Jolly Christmas, they want you to make a card using one of 5 colour schemes. I picked Red/White/Green. The digi stamp is by Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet – Candy Cane (Floppy Latte Designs). I stamped on vellum, coloured the back using Copic markers, turned it over and backed with white card stock. I added Wink of Stella to the candies, and some red stickles to the berries. I used Dies by Sizzix – Framelits Die Set 8PK – Squares to frame the image, Die by Memory Box – Frostyville Border Die to add some winter details and Impression Obsession – Greetings Bottom Edgers Die for  the sentiment.

Red and Green and Silver

This week’s challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown is to use red and green, plus silver or gold. I used the following products:

Stamp by Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet – Candy Cane (Floppy Latte Designs)
Die by Sizzix – Framelits Die Set 8PK – Squares
Die by Memory Box – Frostyville Border Die
Die by Penny Black – Love and Joy dies

I printed the digi stamp on vellum and coloured on the back with Copic markers (faux stained glss look). I added Wink of Stella to the candy, red Stickles to the berries, matt silver foil card stock for layering, and silver dots from my stash.

I also entered this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Stampin’ All Year Long – Challenge #36- Anything Goes!!

Festive Friday - Challenge #44 - Photo Inspiration (image of a Christmas wreathe in reds and greens only with bow)

Naturally Christmas

I designed my card for the Merry Monday #132 {Snowflakes, Neutral Colors and Dry Embossing!} Challenge. I made a very simple design. I layered 4 neutral brown toned papers onto a kraft base. Next I added the die cut Merry Christmas from Impression Obsession – Holiday Bottom Edgers Die. I dry embossed the card front using a snowflake embossing folder by Sizzix/Tim Holtz. For the final step, I added the Jumbo Snowflake die cut from MFT (retired).
