This challenge will last for the whole month of October 2017 – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas – it doesn’t have to be a card, you can link any project as long as it’s Christmas!
Once again this year, all of these monthly challenges are being generously sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - a winner will be randomly chosen using random.
Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge – they are offering 4 digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.
For this month’s card, I selected another Tropical Santa called “Surfing Santa. Unfortunately Bugaboo has since retired the series, and that is why you need to keep checking their website. As new stamps are created, they retire the old ones-heavy sigh.
I started by colouring him bright, festive colours with my Copics. Once done, I fussy cut him out and set him aside. The stamped sentiment is from Paper Smooches. I layered him on Rainbow paper for added colour.

Our current challenge at 52CCC is:
When I am making cards, I will often stamp/colour/die cut duplicates so I can “play” with different arrangements. I like to make a variety of slightly different versions. For this challenge I made 6 Christmas Cards using Simon Says Stamp’s, “Santa at the Beach”. If you ever wondered what Santa does after Christmas – the secret is out. With the challenge being drinks, the stamp set was perfect with Santa and Friend having a cocktail on the beach! I coloured the images with Copic Markers. The sentiments were either from the SSS same set, or Avery Elle’s – Cheers. I also used a Cocktail stamp from Paper Smooches – Free Spirits.
Card 1 – Using torn paper, I was able to create a sandy beach. I fussy cut the images and layered them on the card base. Some were popped up on foam tape for added depth.
Card 2 – using torn paper as ocean waves and sand with fussy cut images. I just made a simply card with Santa enjoying some needed vacation time.
card 3 – used cocktail glass stamp from Paper Smooches – Free Spirits to make a background on the blue card base. The images were fussy cut and arranged to show Santa and his buddy at the beach.
card 4 – I fussy cut the images and using dimensional tape I popped up some images for a more 3D effect.
card 5 – I made a one layer card. I stamped Santa, table, and the Penguin first, set the masks in place then stamped the tree and surf board. The stamp was added last.
card 6 – I used torn paper for the sand, fussy cut and layered the images.
I hope you will join us! It is never too early to start making your cards for Christmas 2017!
Welcome to our mid-month challenge. For this challenge, we are asking you to design a Christmas card using cream, aqua and brown. I started my card by blending my background strip using distress inks – peacock feathers and vintage photo. Once that was done I stamped various snowflakes for my stash in the same ink. I trimmed to strip to fit a A2 cream coloured card. Next I cut 4 thin strips of aqua and brown card stock and edged the snowflake strip. I die cut snowflakes using dies from Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches in cream, aqua, and brown card stock. The sentiment is from Papertry Ink.
I hope you will join us! Remember it is never too early to start on your Christmas card stash.
Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.

I picked an adorable stamp by Sweet n’ Sassy called Joy to the World. I coloured the image with Copic markers. While I have the matching dies, I fussy cut out the images. For the background, I used Frantic Stamper Precision Die – Corner Sun Rays Quilt Panel. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
I entered this card into:
ABC Christmas Challenge – ’S’ for Sew What? (Faux stitching around sun rays)
