C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 358 – 7th of April – Colour Combo

This week’s challenge is a colour challenge. I had some funny with my distress inks and trying to blend the greens and blues. For the red/pink tone, I simply mqtted the final image on a rose card stock. To make the coloured background, I took various distress inks and smooshed them on my craft matt. Next I sprayed the inks with water, and smooshed a piece of watercolour paper into the ink. I repeated this process until I got the desired finish. Once dry I stamped the paper with a silhouette windflower stamp by Magenta Stamps called Wildflowers – Umbells. The Sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Fun with Alcohol (Ink that is) Part 2

While working on my previous challenges, I was inspired to make some more Alcohol Background cards. I used 3 colours or Ranger’s Alcohol inks, splattered/dropped on Glossy card stock, then stamped with Staz-on Black Ink. The stamp I used is by Magenta Stamps – Wildflowers – Umbells . Here are my 2 cards.

Fun with Alcohol (Ink that is) Part 1

The latest Tutorial over at Mark’s Finest Papers MFPSpeedyTV is Alcohol Splatter. I have tried this technique once before (over a year ago), but I used clear acetate vs glossy paper. So this morning I went in search of my alcohol inks and here are my results. I used 3 colour combinations, and made them specific for different card challenges. The stamp I used is from Magenta Stamps – Bird on a Branch. The sentiments are from Paper Smooches and Papertrey Ink.

Online Card Class – Watercoloured Day 12

I think this was my favorite class ever, and Online Card Classes have done some pretty awesome classes. I would highly recommend any of their classes (and I have done them all!) I am only saddened that this is the last day. I made 3 thank you cards using 3 different background watercolour techniques. The stamp is from a Canadian Company called Magenta Style, and the stamp is called appropriately “bird on a branch”.

thank you x3

Card 1) I first stamped the bird with Versafine black ink. I then hand coloured the bird and background with watercolours.

thank you 3

Card 2) I wet the watercolour paper, applied distress ink and water for a softer background. I stamped the bird on the paper once it was dry, and added paint splatters

thank you 2

Card 3) I applied distress ink to my craft mat, misted it with water, and smooched the paper on top. once the paper was dry I stamped the bird, and added the paint splatters.

thank you 1I made this card series with the challenge at Addicted to Stamps Challenge, and entered card 1. I also submitted the same card to Le Style Magenta: May 2014

Challenge #95 Photo Inspirationdefi

Clean and Simple Day 5 and 6

Every day the girls on Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making offer new techniques that educate and inspire me.

For Day 5, my inspiration for my card was background masking. I made three masked cubes and stamped a flower on top to give the illusion of depth. I used distress inks and a stamp called Wildflowers – Umbells by Magenta Stamps.

For Day 6, I decided to try the Graffiti Stamping Style. I first stamped three coloured ladies and stamped words across them. My first attempt I left half the card blank, but my second attempt I stamped words completely over the images. I used stamps from Close to My Heart – Love Life/Live Out Loud/Take Note/Fashionista. I used Hero Arts ink.
