C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 417 – 25th of May – Fathers’ Day/Male

DTbadgeWe tend to make more female cards than male cards. With Father’s Day coming we are challenging you to make either a Father’s Day card, or a card more suitable for a guy. For this challenge I used an adorable stamp by Dr. Digi’s House of Stamps called, Summer Holidays.” I coloured the image using my Spectrum Noir markers. I fussy cut him out and put him aside. Next using a retired map background stamp by JustRite I stamped a piece of 4.25 x 5.5 white and kraft card stock. I coloured the backgrounds with Distress Inks. I made one card suitable for a Happy Retirement card and the other to wish someone a great holiday.

C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 409 – 30th of March – Create Your Own Embellishment

DTbadge

I love making my own embellishments, especially flowers, but when I started looking for inspiration for this week’s challenge in my embellishment box I come across a number of these little origami dress I made last year but never used them.

I started with a background stamp (retired) from JustRite. I stamped it on yellow toned patterned paper. Next I die cut a dress dummy from Memory Box, then popped up my dress on it. I added a belt using Stickles and a button I made from MFT button dies. Next I die cut more buttons using the small and large button dies from MFT and threaded them and popped them up using foam tape. I also added a spool of thread and needle and thread I made using dies from MFT and Memory Box. I also created my own “gems” using gold stickles. I hope you like the results.

52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – Colour Challenge

Our current challenge is a Colour Challenge. You are to make a card using Burgundy, Lime and Cream. I had to think about this one and and finally settled on using the adorable elves from My Favorite Things - BB Santa’s Elves. I made two cards, using all three elves from the stamp set. I started by stamping the images, colouring them using my Spectrum Noir Markers, fussy cutting them out, then layered them on my card base. I used solid burgundy and lime green card stocks, and a sentiment patterned cream and gold card stock. I used a retired sentiment from JustRite Stamps in Card 1, and a sentiment from the same MFT stamp set for Card 2. For the final touches I added some gold stickles, burgundy coloured pearls, and some gold sequins.

130 Christmas Cards for Seniors!

christmas-images-1

Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.
