This week at Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge 449, the Design Team is looking for you to include a reindeer. I have had this stamp/die set from Hero Art from the beginning of my card making. It is called #657780 ‘Holiday Cheer’. I stamped the images using Versafine Black, coloured the deer with Tombow markers, paper pieced the sweaters, and used Christmas papers from my stash.
I look forward to seeing everyone’s works!
This week at Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge, we are looking for the added feature of a bell or bells. When I found this adorable “bell” SVG file called, Jingle Bell Pals, by A Little Scrap of Heaven I knew it would be perfect. This is a larger card than I normally make but it was designed to use envelops given to me by the Hallmark rep. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. I used my Cricut Explorer Air to cut out the shapes. I added detail with my white gel pen and shading with my Copic B10. The snowflake sticker was from my stash. Note: This SVG file came with 5 more friends – penguin, Santa, snowman, reindeer, and Mrs. Claus and I will be posting them all in future blogs.
Please join us every week and we will help you build your Christmas 2019 stash.
Our theme this week is Silent Night. I have a wonderful paper with the music of Silent Night but in my messy craft room I was not successful in finding it…insert sad face! So I made do with what I could find. I used an older Hero Arts stamp called Snowing Village CG396. Using my Misti, I stamped the images several times to ensure I got a black sky. I coloured the houses using Copic markers and added glitter mist to the full card front. The sentiment is recycled from a Christmas card.
Our monthly challenge at Simply Create Too! is to create a bookmark. Well, I couldn’t just make a bookmark, I had to make a card with a bookmark, then a separate bookmark to match the same theme. For my project, I used stamps from Honey Bee Stamps - UNDER THE SEA and ZEN OCEAN. I started by stamping the Zen Sea with Versamark Ink, adding black embossing powder then colouring it with TH Oxide Inks. The mermaids were embossed with gold embossing powder and coloured with Copic markers. Next I fussy cut them out and set aside. I used an older die and stamp set from Our Daily Bread to make the bookmarks (retired). I also used a you sentiment from SSS and Celebrate die set from Hero Arts.
