Simply Create Too – Challenge #141 – 8/3 to /8/31 – Create a Bookmark

1 Simply Create 2 DT

Our monthly challenge at Simply Create Too! is to create a bookmark. Well, I couldn’t just make a bookmark, I had to make a card with a bookmark, then a separate bookmark to match the same theme. For my project, I used stamps from Honey Bee Stamps - UNDER THE SEA and ZEN OCEAN. I started by stamping the Zen Sea with Versamark Ink, adding black embossing powder then colouring it with TH Oxide Inks. The mermaids were embossed with gold embossing powder and coloured with Copic markers. Next I fussy cut them out and set aside. I used an older die and stamp set from Our Daily Bread to make the bookmarks (retired). I also used a you sentiment from SSS and Celebrate die set from Hero Arts.

Click here to go to challenge blog

The C.R.A.F.T. Challenge is to use numbers. For my card, I used a clear stamp from Sweet n Sassy called The Sea! I made the card for a guy friend who is turning the Big 6-0 this August. I started by stamping the sailboat with Versafine Black ink. Next, I blended Distress Oxide Ink into the background. I added a sentiment by Hero Arts and the number 60 die-cuts from Papertry Ink.

Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge 382 – Add a House(s)

CHNC blog button DT

This week at Crazy Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge the theme is “Add a House or Two”. I decided to use an older Hero Arts stamp called Snowing Village CG396. Using my Misti, I stamped the images several times to ensure I got a black sky. I coloured the houses using Copic markers and added some ice stickles. I mounted the images on two different papers from my stash. The sentiment is from SSS.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown – Theme Challenge – April 21, 2018 – White Christmas

This week the 52CCT Design Team is challenging you to make a white on white Christmas card. I used two dies sets to create my round card. I started with cutting two circles, and the beautiful snowflake circular die cut using Snowflake Circle by Spirit of Christmas Precious Marieke. To add the bird I using the dies only from Hero Arts – Die and Clear Acrylic Stamp Set – Dimensional Bird. To attach the circles to form the card, I scored the inside (back) circle about 1/2 inch down and used Be Creative tape to glue the two together.

C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 453 – 1st of February – Three of a Kind

DTbadge

This week the C.R.A.F.T. Design Team is challenging you to think of Three of a Kind. For my card, I decided to try out my new Altenew Layering Stamp – Tulip Stamp Set. I love tulips. They are my favorite flowers! With this stamp set, you stamp various coloured inks (Hero Arts/Stampin’ Up) in layers vs hand colouring the image. I used my Misti to help me line up the stamps and I think I did a pretty good job on my first attempt. The grass was created using a Lawn Fawn die.
