Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge 391 – Use some washi tape

CHNC blog button DT

This week at CHNCC. we are challenging you to use washi tape on your project. I have to admit, I never use washi tape, I hoard it, but never use it. I purchased a box of tapes from Micheal by Crate Paper called Falala and used every tape at least once. The snowman is by Dilly Beans Stamps – Framed Snowman 2. I coloured the snowman with Copic Markers.

Join us every week and we will help you build your Christmas Card stash.

Simply Create Too – Challenge May 127 – Must use a Digi Stamp May 5-26

simple-create-too-logo-for-dtFor our May Challenge, our Design Team is asking you to design a project using a Digi Stamp. Please also include a link to the digi stamp or the name of digi stamp and the stamp company name. Our challenge runs from May 5-26, 2017.

For my card I used a beautiful digi stamp from Silly Dilly Beans Stamps called, “Owl Will Always lLove You.”  I started by printing two digi stamp on my Laser Printer. Next I added gold foil and black foil to the cards using my Minc machine. Next I coloured the image with my Copics Markers. For the final set I attached the image to wood texture kraft card stock, and then the card base.

Card 1 – Using gold foil.

Card 2 – Using black foil.

Fun with Patterns

I purchased this fabulous cardstock made by Echo Park. They make it in green/gold foil, cream/gold foil, and red/gold foil. I used sketch #5 from the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown, and I wanted the paper to match up the design. Because the cardstock pattern is very random, I ended up cutting the upper left hand corner of 9 sheets of paper (3 in each colour) then cutting the papers down to match up. I will find uses for the scraps.

I coloured the Snowman Framed #2 Digi Stamp by Dilly Bean Stamps. I coloured the images with Spectra Noir and Copic markers using different colour versions. Because the cardstock is made up of sentiments, I did not feel it was necessary to add a separate one. I also love the contrast between the traditional Christmas colours – green, red and gold and the bright non-traditional coloured snowman. Notice the different looks of the card with the same design elements but simply changing up the order the of colours.

I entered my card into the following challenges:
