I got this wonderful little stamp called Christmas Joy from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I coloured the cardinal using Derwent Inkintense  pencils. When I finished him I felt there was something missing then it hit me…Snow! the branches need snow! I used both a glitter based snow product, and a white pearlized paint. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. I switched up the papers to change to overall feel of the card.

Christmas is a special time of year. If you are fortunate to live in an area with snow it is truly a Winter Wonderland. For this challenge I used my Penny Black - Christmas Cottage stamp. I used my Derwent Watercolour Inktense pencils. I added Tim Holtz’s Stickles accents to the snow. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

I am so excited to have joined Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge Extra . I worked with Hazel on The Glory of Christmas as a member of their Design Team and she was fabulous. I love card making and especially love “Christmas” card making.

This challenge will last for the whole month of January 2017 – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas – it doesn’t have to be a card, you can link any project as long as it’s Christmas!

For my first card(s) I used Christmas rocking horse by Bugaboo. I hand painted this image using Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils. Once complete, I cut the horse out and layered it on top on Kaisercraft paper. The sentiments are tags from Kaisercraft as well. I made this card in pink and blue for a little girl and little boy.

130 Christmas Cards for Seniors!

christmas-images-1

Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.
