The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 59 – Anything “Christmas” Goes

SidebarglorykleinerThe current challenge at The  Glory of Christmas is Challenge 59 – Anything Goes (as long as it is Christmas). For my card, I went very whimsical, using non-traditional colours. I love working wih blue tones, and these adorable birds worked great with my concept. I used two digis stamps that I coloured with Copic markers: From the Heart - For Santa Birdbrain & Delicious Doodles – Peacock Feather.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 304 – 26th of March – Inspired by a Film

DTbadge

For our challenge this week at C.R.A.F.T. we want your project to be inspired by film. I made a fun little card featuring Hobbybook‘s digital stamp - Jolly Santa. I started by colouring old St. Nick with Copic Markers. I layered two different Christmas papers for the background, and joined them with a punch scalloped border from American Craft. The Joy sentiment is from Tim Holtz’s. For added fun I mounted Santa on an Action Wooble, and he jiggles back and forth! With so many Santa Claus movies, it was hard not to be inspired by them all, but I have to say my most favourite is the classic – Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Glory of Christmas – Challenge #51 Dots and Stripes

Sidebarglorykleiner

For the next two weeks, the challenge at Glory of Christmas is Dots and Stripes. I decided on a window themed card. I keep the design fairly simple. I used a stamp from Delicious Doodles called A Robin’s Christmas. I coloured the Christmas ornaments red, but left the rest of the image black and white. I framed the image with the small Memory Box – Madison Window Die. For my Dots and Stripes, I embossed the background wall using two folders: small dot pattern and a stripe pattern. I used three stickers from Kaisercraft to finish off the card.

Guest Designer – Butterfly Challenge #22 – ‘B’ is for Brads with your Butterflies.

guest designer butterfly challenge

Last month I was asked by Butterfly Challenge to be a Guest Designer this January. I was very honoured. The challenge was to design a card with butterflies (of course), but the twist was to add some brads.

I selected one of my favorite digi stamps from Delicious Doodles called Fae. I coloured the little fairy and her butterfly friends with Copic Markers. I highlighted her eyes with Glossy Accents and added Ranger’s Diamond Glitter to her wings. I layered the image using Spellbinder’s  - 5 x 7 Detailed Scallops Dies and paper from my stash, then secured the main card and die to the front panel using 4 brads in the corners.

What Santa Does After Christmas

Last summer I took a wonderful Crop and Cruise with Julie Nutting (Prima Dolls), and I had so much fun that I want to do it again. When it came time to start thinking about a gift for my BFF and bestest crafting buddy, I decided to invite her on a cruise with me as her Christmas/Birthday present for the next couple of years!

To make my card, I used Tropical Santa – Suntan and Tropical Santa – Surfboard by Bugaboo and Delicious Doodles – Cruiseliner. I also used the Scalloped Edge die and Sun Ray Texture Plate by PI. I coloured the card front images with Copics.
