Getting Ready for Easter

I am still busy making cards for the Belmont Nursing Home residents. I am making 130 cards for Easter. It is my way to “Pay it Forward” for the wonderful care they provided my mother during her stay there. I try to make an unique card for each person so I always vary them.

Card 1 – I used Spring Bunnies by Hambo. I coloured the bunnies with Copic markers, then layered the image using various papers from my stash. I entered this card into Animal Friends Challenge#23 Easter (Image must have animal)

Card 2 – Welcomes Spring using this adorable lamb stamp by Daydream Designs called Spring Sheep. I coloured the image with Copic Markers and colour blocked it on fun flowered paper. I entered this card into Card Mania # 66 Spring

Card 3 – I love this adorable bunny and little girl called Bunny Hello by From the Heart Stamps. I coloured the image with my Copic markers, and layered it on papers from my stash. I entered this card into Crafts Galore Encore - It’s March and Anything Goes!

Card 4 is a fun little chick called Flowerpot Chick by From the Heart Stamps. I coloured this little bird with Copic markers anf layered him on papers from my stash.

Cards 5 & 6 were made used version Card-I-O Majestic Peg Stamps. For the first card, I cut out a stencil using the Cheery Lynn Egg Nesting dies. I set the insert aside. I placed the “egg shaped stencil over a piece of Neenah Solar White 4.25×5.5 paper. I stamped the flowers and leaves. Before removing the stencil, I inked the inside edge using Broken China distress ink. I layered it on the dotted paper, added a sentiment and two butterflies. For the second card, I stamped the insert. I inked the edges, then layered it on an embossed card stock. I added a sentiment and two punched butterflies. I entered Card 5 into Natalie and Amy’s Challenge – Flowers and Darlene’s March Challenge: Stencils

Spring is Coming!

I am still working on making my cards (130) for the residents of the Belmont Nursing Home. I like to try to make a different design for each person, so Sketch challenges really help me with my card making. Today I made 5 different cards specific for five different card challenges.

Easter Egg Cards Part 1

The next series of cards started as 6 cards but ended as 12. My intention was to create an egg shape stencil using my new stamps by Card-IO/Magestix. I started by cutting down a couple sheets of 8.5×11 light weight white card stock into A2s. Next I used the largest three Cheery Lynn Nesting Egg Dies to cut out various egg shapes. I wasn’t planning on using the egg shaped cut out, just the stencil I created, but why let them go to waste or get lost in the back of my craft drawers, so I stamped them with the mini stamps. The results are below.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas…

With Halloween over, I am getting geared up for Christmas. I don’t have children, but I do have a little “furkid” that gets a lot of attention. I made this card up for the challenge over at Incy Wincy Designs - Inspired by a Song, Book or Movie.

Everywhere you go

I just had some fun making this little Doggie Christmas Card. I used some dog printed paper by Recollections (Micheal’s brand), Bailey’s Christmas by Hambo, and the sentiment from SSS – Furry Christmas Friends. I coloured Bailey with Copics, added a couple of flags and pearls and here is the results…

Butterfly Cut-Out

I got my inspiration for my butterfly cut out card from a card I saw on Pinterest by a talented crafter, named Lindsay. If you click on the snowflake card below, it will take you to her blog. I decided to use a butterfly die, vs a snowflake. With my first or sample card I used a patterned background paper, and embossed the plain white cardstock. I wanted a more colourful background, so I created my own using a Crayola watercolour set and Tim Holtz’s watercolour paper. I made three cards, one with the watercoloured background, and two using a white background and cutting the butterfly out of the watercoloured paper. I used the Large Exotic Butterfly die by Cheery Lynn, and various sentiment stamps.
