C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 406 – 9th of March – Easter/Spring

DTbadgeAfter the strange winter we just had, I am looking forward to Spring, tulips and Easter, For today’s card I went for simplicity. I die cut 3 bunnies using a Memory Box die and three coloured papers. I also cut out two strips of grass using dies from MFT. The sentiment is by Avery Elle. I assembled the card, and for the final touch I added pom pom tails.

52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – Sketch

Our new challenge is a Sketch Challenge. I kept to the basic sketch and added a little holly embellishment from Avery Elle. I used various green papers from my stash. I stamped the sentiment, using a retired sentiment stamp/die set from JustRite, in two colours of ink – Stampin Up – Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler.

52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – Theme – Drinks

CCT - Design For BadgeOur current challenge at 52CCC is:

When I am making cards, I will often stamp/colour/die cut duplicates so I can “play” with different arrangements. I like to make a variety of slightly different versions. For this challenge I made 6 Christmas Cards using Simon Says Stamp’s, “Santa at the Beach”. If you ever wondered what Santa does after Christmas – the secret is out. With the challenge being drinks, the stamp set was perfect with Santa and Friend having a cocktail on the beach! I coloured the images with Copic Markers. The sentiments were either from the SSS same set, or Avery Elle’s – Cheers. I also used a Cocktail stamp from Paper Smooches – Free Spirits.

Card 1 – Using torn paper, I was able to create a sandy beach. I fussy cut the images and layered them on the card base. Some were popped up on foam tape for added depth.

Card 2 – using torn paper as ocean waves and sand with fussy cut images. I just made a simply card with Santa enjoying some needed vacation time.

card 3 – used cocktail glass stamp from Paper Smooches – Free Spirits to make a background on the blue card base. The images were fussy cut and arranged to show Santa and his buddy at the beach.

card 4 – I fussy cut the images and using dimensional tape I popped up some images for a more 3D effect.

card 5 – I made a one layer card. I stamped Santa, table, and the Penguin first, set the masks in place then stamped the tree and surf board. The stamp was added last.

White and Silver Snowy

When I started to colour “Snowy” by Penny Black, my intention was to colour his hat and scarf, add rosy cheeks and use bright Christmas themed papers. I had my BG10 Copics marker out that I use a lot to add dimension to whites (I usually always do this last), next I coloured his nose and put the image aside. A week later I decided I would finish the colouring, but after looking at it, I loved the simplicity so I left it as is. Next I fussy cut him out, and popped his up on a snowflake diecut silver background and added it to the card front. The die is from Impression Obsessions called Snowflake Background. I double stamped the sentiment using a stamp from Avery Elle’s – Let it Snow.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 82 – Make a Scene

Sidebarglorykleiner

For this Challenge, the design team challenges you to make a scene using your stamps, dies, punches, etc. I made a winter scene using two stamp sets: Let it Snow by Avery Elle and Winter Hills Stamp Set by Papertrey Ink.

I started by stamping the blocked house scene, and larger house. I coloured the roofs and front door with my Copic Markers. Next I created the card front. I hand cut a hill template, then sponged light blue ink to create the snow covered hills. Next using the same ink I stamped the snowflakes. I added the tree, snowman, and hand drew the path. I fussy cut out the larger house and attached it to the card front with SU dimensions. I cut out the blocked scene and created a banner. I backed it with light blue card stock and attached to card with dimensions. I added a die cut snowflake I had lying on my desk. Finally I backed the card on the same light blue card stock and taped to card base.
