PI Make It Monday #158: Stamping With Watercolor Mediums

Today’s PI  Make it Monday tutorial discusses using Faber-Castell Gelatos for a watercolour effect. While I have some of the gelato sticks, I have never tried them before so I thought I would break open the set and give them a go. For my image, I used a poppy stamp from Hero Arts – Petals of Beauty. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink – Heart 2 Heart #10. The first card I coloured the stamp with gelatos then used my aqua brush to apply the water. Card 2 was a second stamping without adding anything to the original colouring. Card 3, I recoloured the stamp and water misted it. For more detail on the technique I would refer you to Papertrey Ink’s Blog at http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/make-it-monday/

Beautiful cards. Love the softness of them.

Your sympathy cards are lovely – a type of card I’m LOUSY at. But I’m sure we’d all like to know what stamps you used and the ink & paper colors. There are some of us (ME) who have no sense of design and need to know what colors other beautiful cards are made of so we can make pretty ones. I really love what you’ve done.

Myrna, what a lovely group of cards! It’s so much fun to note the subtle differences on each stamping!

  4. Wow- that poppy stamp looks like it was MADE for this technique- so beautiful!
