Multi Media using Gelli Plate Backgrounds

I am currently visiting a friend in London, Ontario. One of my favorite craft suppliers is SGD – Scrappin’ Great Deals, and the owner, Sheila suggested that I come down and take a multi-media class with guest artist – Karen Ellis from The Art House Studio.

We spent the first part of the class learning how to make our own papers using a Gelli Plate. While I was not so sure about this technique, it soon became very additive. Next we tore up shapes (flower petals, leaves, vase, background strips) using the papers we created. The final step was to arrange and glue down the papers to create a multi-media painting.
