UPDATE: I received word today that my Caught in Crystal Tree was Showcased for the Technique Tuesday Challenge. I thank everyone who was involved. I had a great time learning this technique.
I am always one to try a new challenge and the gals over at Technique Time Tuesday showed a technique on adding a crystal effect to your card. Vs me trying to explain the tehnique, I would suggest checking out their tutorial at http://mynnettestechniquetuesday.blogspot.ca/search/label/Challenge. While I was on their site, I loved the card posted by Cazro’s Crafty Corner and she used the same technique using floor wax vs crystal accents. This is the technique I tried as I did not have any crystal accents on hand. Cazro referred to a great Youtube tutorial by Sheena at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaAi_cxKMH0. I made 5 cards. Here are my results:
I used a stamp from JustRite – Floral Thank You stamped on acetate with Staz-on Black Ink. They were framed using MFT – Oval Stax 1 and 2. These cards are very pretty with the glitter, but they are very hard to photography and show the shimmer because of the glossy surface of the acetate. The close-ups below, I tried to capture the glitz.
These cards used Penny Black – Snow Dust. The card on the left has glitter added, while the one on the right does not. Again I tried to show the full glitz effect in the close-ups below:
