CAS-ology Week 86 Challenge: Roots

Week 86 - Roots

This week’s challenge is roots. I immediately thought of trees. I am fascinated by trees. The oldest living trees, Great Basin Bristlecone Pines from California and Nevada are more than 5,000 years old. Those are DEEP roots. I also think of family, and family trees, so I decided The Heart Tree – by La La Land would be a great start for my card entry. I used kraft papers vs white, and the base card stock from Simon Says Stamps has a finely embossed wood pattern. I highlighted the heart with a red copic marker then added  drop of glossy accents. For the sentiment, I tried a “love” tag around the tree.

Love the subtlety of the tone on tone tree and that bright pop of red – the card still feels clean, even though the branches could be considered ‘busy’ – well done! Thanks for joining us at CASology this week!
