Clean and Simple Day 3 and 4

Wow, what wonderful tutorials the gals at Online Card Classes – Clean and Simple 3 are providing. I have learnt a lot in the past few days. I am so used to adding paper on paper that to do a single layer card is all new to me.

Day 3   This is my take on creating a scene. I used stamps from WaltzingMouse Stamps - Way out West and Back in the Saddle. I used distress inks for the blended background, then Stampin Up inks for the foreground. I was going to embossing the cowboy, but he stood out fine without it.

Day 4   I tried masking the card for inside stamping. It was the first time I tried this and I am happy with the results. I cut an oval that stamped leaves and flowers using various Papertrey Ink Stamps. Before removing the mask, I gently sponged around the edge of the oval to give it a more defined look.

UPDATE:  My card “Courage” was elected as a favorite of the week ending March 23, 2014 from Splitcoast Stampers.
