Fun with my Cricut

My first experience with card making came when my friend introduced me to her Cricut machine. She talked me into buying a Cricut mini and 50 plus cartridges later….! Provo Craft introduced a free online craftroom program that allows you the freedom to modify your images and create new and exciting designs and I use it with most of my card designs.

The “sick/ick” card inspiration came from Stampin Up stamp. In the Cricut Craftroom, I typed out s{ick} on designer paper, removed the letters, cut the cardstock down and matted it on black cardstock, then on a green card base. I used the We R Memory Keepers corner chopper to round the edges, and  finished it off with a little “nurse” owl using Stampin Up’s Build an Owl Punch. The inside has the phrase “get well soon” that I cut on my Cricut.

For the butterfly card, I used the Tablescapes Spring and Summer cartridge. I first cut out the card, then a small single butterfly that I embossed with a polka dot pattern, and finally I added a 2 piece memory box die cut out of yellow vellum. I accented the body with some amber gems, and added wire antenna. The card is blank into the inside.

Fabulous 24/7 was based on a project idea posted on Cricut’s website. I used the Forever Young cartridge for the young lady and the wording. The textured diamond background was created using a spellbinder embossing folder.

This card is another card inspired by a posted project in the Cricut Craftroom. The Wrap It Up Cartridge was used to make the bride figure. Tulle, ribbon, embossing folder, pearls and gems were added to enhance the card.

The birthday cake card is from the Wrap It Up cartridge. I selected fun colours and added a sentiment from the same cartridge. The stamped Happy Birthday is from Close to My Heart CASUAL EXPRESSIONS D1525. I added glossy accents to the flames of the candles.

You are my sunshine is another Cricut Craftroom project. I used the Wrap it Up cartridge for the phrase and added the sunshine.

I have a stamp from Stampin Up called Loads of Love that has a little pick up that you can add different items in the flat bed. I decided to do a similar things using this truck from the Just Because cartridge.

I needed a western themed birthday card, so I made one up using a boot from the Old West cartridge. I added a circle to make the card more stable and allow for the stamp from Waltzingmouse – Back in the Saddle, The stars an gems are from Reflections.

I made up this little card as a Halloween card for my “grandson”.  The strange thing was that his mother bought him a green, three eyed monster costume-I had no idea! The little monster is from the Autumn Celebration cartridge.

IMG_1021 (640x636)I got my inspiration for this card from Nendy’s Creative Corner . I cut out various oval shapes from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. I added dimension by embossing the bunny’s ears and the background. The nose is a felt puffy heart from Michael’s.

IMG_1030 (638x640)For my last card, I simply cut out three banners from CTMH – Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and assembled them on a black card base. I first saw this design on Pinterest - Designz by Gloria.

I love my Cricut! My favorite cartridges are the ones that Provo Craft and CTMH Close To My Heart developed. While I own a gypsy, I design most cards using the Cricut Craftroom software.
