The week CHNCC is looking for a project suitable for a child. I immediately thought of a joke. I selected a reindeer digi stamp from Bugaboo. I found a cute joke using Google and created a hidden door with the answer behind. I coloured the critter with Copic markers and highlighted the stars and belt bells with glossy accents, The background was created using various Oxide inks and then the water flick technique to oxidize the background to look like starts or snow.
The joke reads, “Which of Santa’s reindeer has the worst manners?” When you flip up the door it reads, “Rude-olph.”

This week at the 52 Christmas Card Challenge we are looking for those pretty Christmas papers we stash away and never use. I made 2 versions of my card. The first version, I used a classic patterned paper with gold and black, but the end result, while pretty, don’t look like a Christmas card so I remade it using my favourite patterned paper by Carte Bella and suede paper by Paper Wishes. I am not sure if it is still being made, so I have my own little stash of it in various colours. To made my first card I used the standard setting provided with the High Heel SVG download by The Dreaming Tree. I downloaded the file to my computer, uploaded the design to Design Studio and cut out the pieces using my Cricut. The first card is A2 4.25 x 5.5. For the second card, It was just so darn pretty I had to create it in a 5 x 7 size. Vs using the 4 petal flowers included, I opted to resize the poinsettias from The Dreaming Tree, Poinsettia Planter/Christmastime Bundle to make the card more “Christmasy”. Note: Currently this card is being offered as a free download and they even have a full assembly video sailable.

This will be my final card I make as a member of the C.R.A.F.T. Design Team. It has been a fabulous 4.5 years and I will truly miss working with Jo and her wonderful team. The C.R.A.F.T. challenge this week is to distress our project. I used a SVG digital file simply called Ice Skate card delightful cut by Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I downloaded the project to Cricut Design Space and cut out the pieces. Before assembling the skate I distressed and inked each piece using the Tim Holtz distress blade tool and Distress ink. Vs using the circle holes for the skate, I opted to use my We R Memory Keeping Eyelet punch and used twine laces. I added a Merry tag by Kaisercraft.

The Design Team at CHNCC is looking for a card with a house or houses. I decided to make a huge card using my Cricut and an SVG file from My Scrap Chick called Village Card. You can make this card as big or small as you want. I went with 7 houses, switching them up using pre-textured cardstock and smooth cardstock. I used stickers to decorate the doors, and sentiment by Penny Black. The full card fits into a 8.5 x 11 inch envelop.

This week at 52 Christmas Card Challenge we are looking for a Snarky/Funny themed card. When I think snarky, I automatically think of Bugaboo Digital Stamps! They have some of the funniest characters! I used the stamp, Gus Birthday – Old Fart. I changed his hat from a birthday hat to a Santa hat, coloured the image with my Copics, and created my own sentiment based on a wall hanging I saw this past Christmas at Bouclair’s.
