I love making my own embellishments, especially flowers, but when I started looking for inspiration for this week’s challenge in my embellishment box I come across a number of these little origami dress I made last year but never used them.
I started with a background stamp (retired) from JustRite. I stamped it on yellow toned patterned paper. Next I die cut a dress dummy from Memory Box, then popped up my dress on it. I added a belt using Stickles and a button I made from MFT button dies. Next I die cut more buttons using the small and large button dies from MFT and threaded them and popped them up using foam tape. I also added a spool of thread and needle and thread I made using dies from MFT and Memory Box. I also created my own “gems” using gold stickles. I hope you like the results.
Embellishments I made: dress with belt, buttons, gems, needle and thread, spool of thread.

This week’s challenge to open to any type of card with the challenge of adding a charm. I make jewelry from time to time and have quite a few charms in my stash. I opted to use this adorable stamp by MFT called Spring has Sprung. I stamped it on kraft paper using Versafine Tuxedo Black and coloured it with Copics and a white gel pen. To add some drama, I tore on edge and backed it on a crimped neutral card stock. I added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn, wrapped some twine around the card front and tied on a cute little sun charm.

Our current challenge is a Colour Challenge. You are to make a card using Burgundy, Lime and Cream. I had to think about this one and and finally settled on using the adorable elves from My Favorite Things - BB Santa’s Elves. I made two cards, using all three elves from the stamp set. I started by stamping the images, colouring them using my Spectrum Noir Markers, fussy cutting them out, then layered them on my card base. I used solid burgundy and lime green card stocks, and a sentiment patterned cream and gold card stock. I used a retired sentiment from JustRite Stamps in Card 1, and a sentiment from the same MFT stamp set for Card 2. For the final touches I added some gold stickles, burgundy coloured pearls, and some gold sequins.
Get a jump on Christmas and start making your Christmas Cards now. The CRAFT Design Team.s Challenge this week is to make a Christmas themed card. I found a wooden stamp called, “ELF Legs by Northwoods Rubber Stamps” that I bought years ago and have never used, so I decided to make my card(s) using it. I first stamped the image using Memento Ink. Next I coloured it with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I added glitter to the “bells” and layered the image on my card base. As the patterned paper already had a printed sentiment I felt there was no need to add a separate one. I made two cards with the variation of the image being green and burgundy vs burgundy and green. I also glued one image straight vs the other on a tilt. For the final step I added sequins for that little extra fun.

I got this wonderful little stamp called Christmas Joy
from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I coloured the cardinal using Derwent Inkintense pencils. When I finished him I felt there was something missing then it hit me…Snow! the branches need snow! I used both a glitter based snow product, and a white pearlized paint. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. I switched up the papers to change to overall feel of the card.
