C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 387 – 27th of October – Add Ribbon, Sparkle and Shine

Fall is a favorite time of the year. Here in Ontario, Canada, we are blessed with the wonderful fall colours each year. Prince Edward County is famous for its pumpkins and I love taking that Fall drive and seeing all the pumpkins in the fields! My card today was inspired by those wonderful drives. I felt the AKV Fall Family Trio by Bugaboo Stamps was  a perfect subject.I coloured them with my Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils. I added some sequences for a little bling and a string bow.

Fun with Embossing!

This week’s challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown Challenge is Embossing – Heat or Dry. Well I decided to make dry embossed cards using a couple of different stamps/die cuts/punches.

Card 1: I used Memory Box SILENT SNOWFALL Craft DIE 98670 as an embossing die. n place of my cutting mat on my Big Shot. I used a silicone mat so the die “embossed” the background vs cut through it. I freehand cut the snow hills, the the little penguin is a modified Owl Punch by Stampin Up. I added googly eyes, sequins, clear stickles, and snowfall stickers to embellish the card. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink.

Card 2 – I used a lined embossing folder to resemble wood siding. The “arched window” die and “a glimpse inside” stamp are from Taylored Expressions. The floral boughs were created with Memory Box Die Cutting BREEZY WREATH (cut in half using two colours of card stock) and Truly Gifted Die. I coloured the stamped image using Derwent Inktense Watercolour pencils. The tag was created using the oval and scalloped punch by Stampin Up. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Card 3 – I used numerous products. I started by creating my background using Darice Embossing Folders SNOWFLAKE BACKGROUND. Next I stamping the little knitting sheep using the Lawn Fawn FLEECE NAVIDAD Stamp set. I coloured her using Copic markers. The little tree was created with the Christmas Tree Stamps and punch set by Stampin Up. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

I entered this card into 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – Technique Challenge – Embossing. I have also put my name forward as a possible Design Tean member for 2017

Card 4 & 5 – Last year I cut out a number of tree shapes using my Cricut machine. Initially they were to be tags for gifts, but were never used, so this year I decided to emboss them using Cuttlebug Embossing Folder A2 – Snowflakes. I embellished them with pearls/gems and glitter star stickers. I used a couple of cute mouse stamps by Penny Black – xmouse ornament & jolly friends.

My favorite snowman is called Snowy by Penny Black. I have 4 versions of him and this is my most recent. He was included in the stamps set called Jolly Friends. There are 7 stamps in this adorable collection. I coloured him using Derwent Inktense Waterrcolour Pencils. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

It is amazing how just changing the card background changes the feel of the card.

Simply Create Too – Challenge 121 – CHRISTMAS COLORS

Simply Too Create DT

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I would have my home decorated for Christmas 365 days a year if I could. I should own one of those Christmas stores! I have lots of stamps and dies, but over 50% of my stash is Christmas. For my card, I selected this adorable little angel by Lili of the Valley stamps from the UK called Holy Light. I used paper and stickers from my stash. I coloured the image with Copics and added some Stickles.

angelOur challenges runs from October 18th until November 11th.

A Polar Bear Party

While in my favorite craft store yesterday I found this adorable polar bear stamp. It is by Whipper Snapper – A Polar Bear Party Cling Rubber Stamp – BBY866. This week’s 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge is a Theme Challenge – Christmas Critter’s, and I decided to use my little polar bears to make a card.

As I normally do, I made numerous cards, but switched up the colours, techniques, and papers. I created 8 cards all together showing how easy it is to make small changes, and end up with 8 different designs.  Four were created using Copic Makers on Neenah 80 lb Solar White paper, and four created using Derwent Watercolour pencils on hot pressed Fabriano watercolour paper. I used some Christmas papers by Kaisercraft and Reminisce.

The next four cards were coloured using Copic Markers.

I entered the card above into the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – Theme – Christmas Critters Challenge. I am also submitting my name as a possible Design Team Member.
