C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 378 – 25th of August – Back to School

This week’s challenge is back to school. I used a wonderful stamp by Bugaboo Stamps – Deacon’s School Crossword. I coloured the image with Derwent Inktense pencils. I modified the inside graphics by covering the word puzzle and adding a computer generated thank you sentiment. I used card stock from my stash to decorate it.

The Holy Family

The ABC Christmas Challenge this week is “Q: for Quick Layout. This layout with exactly that. I used a digi stamp from Melonheads depicting a snowmen nativity scene called, “The Holy Family”. I printed it to lay on the bottom right corner of my card. I coloured the image with my Copics markers. Next, using the retired embossing folder by Stampin’ Up folder called Northern Flurries. I embossed the left side of the card to frame the snow people. I layered the card front with a solid mid-blue panel to add a 1/4″ border and for the final touch added some gems to the snowflake centers. This card from start to finish took less than 15 minutes.

Sweet Stampin’ Christmas August Challenge – Snowpeople

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 377 – 18th of August – Christmas

DTbadgeI have had this stamp, Snowing Village CG396,  by Hero Arts for years and never once used it. Today I tried it out, first stamping in Blue ink, then watercolouring the town with distress inks I pressed on my craft mat and added water too. When I stamped it with the blue ink, the sky coverage reminded me of the northern lights so I left it as is vs restamping using my stamp positioner too.

White and Silver Snowy

When I started to colour “Snowy” by Penny Black, my intention was to colour his hat and scarf, add rosy cheeks and use bright Christmas themed papers. I had my BG10 Copics marker out that I use a lot to add dimension to whites (I usually always do this last), next I coloured his nose and put the image aside. A week later I decided I would finish the colouring, but after looking at it, I loved the simplicity so I left it as is. Next I fussy cut him out, and popped his up on a snowflake diecut silver background and added it to the card front. The die is from Impression Obsessions called Snowflake Background. I double stamped the sentiment using a stamp from Avery Elle’s – Let it Snow.

C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 376 – 11th of August – Anything Goes

DTbadgeAnything Goes this week. These are always the best challenges to just let your crafting juice flow. I decided to work a little out of my comfort zone and do a stamped collage using Rick St Dennis‘s – Cats One Fred. I did two versions of this card. One with a black rat and one with a brown rat – both coloured with Copics. I used various Tim Holtz and Prima stamps in the background. I blended various Distress Inks, sprayed them with water and distressed the panel edges. I hope you like the final results.
