For our challenge we are asking you to create a card using red, white or blue. Well I decided to use all three colours. I found this fabulous stamp while I was shopping at Crop A While in Ottawa. It is called ”Happy as a Clam” by Carabelle Studio – Art Stamp. It was the stars on the fin that “sold” me. I first tried stamping and white embossing the fish and water colouring, but I felt too much detail was missing, so I re-did it using black ink. I used various red and blue Distress inks. For the background images, I used stamps from Designs By Ryn - Leafy Branch (CM-F15), Kelp (CM-S9), and the single fish from School of Fish Set (CM-S12).
I entered my card into the following challenges:
Crafty Cats - Challenge #332 Red, White and Blue
Fashionable Stamping – Under the Sea
Robyns Fetish Challenge 324 – “ANYTHING WITH WATER”
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations - Red, White and Blue
Tuesday Throwdown - #302 – One Layer
UPDATE: I placed Top 3 in the Tuesday Throwdown – One Layer Competition
This week we have a sketch challenge. Our sponsor for this challenge is DRS Designs. They have the coolest set of stained glass stamps that allow you to convert your regular stamps into “faux” stained glass panels. For my card I am using Large Stained Glass – 1133P, but they also have an arched, oval, and small rectangle versions. For the flower pattern, I used Delicious Doodles – Apple Blossom. For my other examples, I used three different flower digis from A Day of Daisies. Vs me trying to tell you how do use this stamp, I will refer you to a YouTube Video by the Frugal Crafter – Lindsay Weirich - Stained Glass Look With Any Stamp. To color my images I used Derwent Watercolour Pencils on Neenah Solar White 80lb paper.
Please join us for this fun challenge, and check out the wonderful stamps at DSR Designs
The GoC Design team is challenging you to make a card using two or more patterned papers. I used two patterned papers from my stash and layered them with my image. The snowman stamp is called, “Gilmor” by Whipper Snapper Designs. I hand coloured him using Copic markers, then fussy cut him out. The sentiment is a pre-printed vellum tag by DCWV.
Our challenge runs from July 3rd to July 15th
