C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 370 – 30th of June – Add Ribbon and Sparkle

DTbadgeYou have to love a Sparkle Challenge. For my card this week I used an adorable digi stamp called Sugi’s Summer Fashion Fun by Lacy Sunshine. I coloured her using Copic Markers. I added glitter highlights to her hair and gems. I also used a sparkly ribbon.

My Mediterranean Cruise & Crop with Cathie Rigby

I just got back from an amazing holiday! With almost 3 years in the planning, my girlfriend, Pearl, and I took an amazing trip to Europe – Paris, Barcelona, Nice, Tuscany, Roman, Amalfi Coast, Venice, Ravenna, and Kotor. Best trip ever! The beauty about a Cruise and Crop is that you Crop during the sailing days. Our Crop leader, Cathie Rigby did not disappoint! Here are  few of the fun things we made on the cruise.

Note: I did not discuss the “how to” techniques of these projects out of respect for the teacher. These projects are based on Cathie Rigby’s designs/techniques, taught to us by her in a classroom environment on the Cruise and Crop. Cathie offers retreats, classes, online instruction, and Cruise and Crops. Her next adventure is a cruise from Australia to New Zealand! For details about Cathie and her multiple talents, visit her at her website at Cathie’s Craft Room - http://www.creativecutterroom.com/ . She is a fabulous instructor and I am happy to call her my friend. The classes were small and intimate. We had a great bunch of ladies in the classes, and their friends and families joined us for dinner and some of the shore excursions. As I said before - Best Trip Ever!

Poppies with Heather Telford

I had another opportunity to take a class with Heather Telford. The class she had for us this week was a watercolour “square”. We made a tag first to test the technique, then we took on the finally project. Both were both fabulous! I am an absolute “Heather” fan. Check out her blog, and the Penny Black Designer Team blog to see her works!

If you are ever in the Ottawa area, check out taking one of her classes! She is a wonderful teacher.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 369 – 23rd of June – Animals

DTbadgeThis week’s theme is animals. I decided to use butterflies as my animal choice. To make my card I used - Sassy Studio – Butterfly Effie Portrait. I coloured my image using Copic markers. Next I die cut the image two different ways using Spellbinders - Amazing Paper Grace A2 Filigree Delight Card Creator Etched Dies. After assembling the cards, I used three Martha Stewart butterfly punches to create 3-d effect.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 87 – Stars

Sidebarglorykleiner

For this challenge, our inspiration is Stars! I thought about looking at the stars on a cold winter’s evening. I created my cards using three different die cuts and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. For the starry night I used SSS – Falling Stars. I backed the cut out stars with silver foil paper. The houses and trees scene was created with Memory Box –  98239 Country Landscape craft dies. I coloured the windows yellow with a Copic marker. And finally I added a road using Impression Obsessions - Winding Road/Stream. It was backed with the same black as the sky. I added the sentiment, and layered the image with silver and black cardstock.
