C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 361 – Inspired by a Book

DTbadgeThis week we got our inspiration from a book. I was just reading, “MOLTO GUSTO BY MARIO BATALI’”, and thought The Paper Shelter’s, “Pizza Chef” was perfect for my card design. I started the card by die cutting an “oven” mitt using the largest die from Sellbinder’s -Shapeabilities – Nested Mittens. Next I printed, coloured (with Copics) . and fussy cut out the chef and pizza. Final step was the assemble the card. On the inside I computer generated the sentiment, “I stole a Pizza of my heart!”

The Glory of Christmas #83 – Stamp or Digi only

Our focus for Challenge 83 is Stamp or Digi only. I absolutely love Penny Black’s, “Snow Family”. What says Christmas better than, not one but, three snowmen! I coloured the little family with my Copic Markers using bright and fun colours. I framed them with a coloured red snowflake patterned paper. The sentiment – let it snow – uses one of the die cuts by Penny Black called Joyous Wishes.

Our challenges runs from April 24th until May 5th.

C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 360 – Christmas

DTbadgeIt is never too early to start your Christmas card stash. This week the design team is inspiring you to do just that. I used an adorable stamp from Bugaboo Stamps called Chubby Snowman. I coloured him with my Copic markers, fussy cut him out and set him aside. Next I die cut the background using Papertrey Ink – Cover Plate: Winter Floral Die. I die cut it out in green and sandwiched with red card stock. I popped the snowman o the front using dimensional, and added a sentiment also from PI.

Simply Create Too – Challenge #107 – USE STITCHING (REAL OR FAUX)

SC2 GROUP BADGEThe Design Team is Challenging you to create a card with Stitching (real or faux). I haven’t had my sewing machine out in over 10 years, but I have purchased a number of the new, popular faux stitching dies. My BFF and I are going on one of those Cruise and Crop trips in June, so I had travel on the brain when I designed my card. I used two dies sets to create the illusion of stitching: Simon Says, “BUNDLE OF STITCHED SHAPES Wafer Dies” and MFT, “Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 5″. I cut out the stitched base, then added two stitched luggage tags and a sentiment tag. The sentiment and camera girl are from Taylored Expressions, “Moka Meredith – Traveler”. I coloured her with Copic markers, fussy cut her out and added dimensionals so she would pop off the page. I finished the card by adding three black gems.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 82 – Make a Scene

For this Challenge, the design team challenges you to make a scene using your stamps, dies, punches, etc. I made a winter scene using two stamp sets: Let it Snow by Avery Elle and Winter Hills Stamp Set by Papertrey Ink.

I started by stamping the blocked house scene, and larger house. I coloured the roofs and front door with my Copic Markers. Next I created the card front. I hand cut a hill template, then sponged light blue ink to create the snow covered hills. Next using the same ink I stamped the snowflakes. I added the tree, snowman, and hand drew the path. I fussy cut out the larger house and attached it to the card front with SU dimensions. I cut out the blocked scene and created a banner. I backed it with light blue card stock and attached to card with dimensions. I added a die cut snowflake I had lying on my desk. Finally I backed the card on the same light blue card stock and taped to card base.
