C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 357 – 31st of March – Create Your Own Background Paper

DTbadgeFor this week’s challenge, we are asking that you make your own background paper. I started this challenge with this adorable digi called Girl Robin by Pink Gem Designs. I coloured her using my Copic markers. Next I die cut her out using the Arch die from MFT – Blueprints 3. Using Distress Ink – Salty Ocean I accented the edges and background, then added a number of small snowflake shaped stamps. I used a snowfall embossing folder to created a textured background, and added a faux stitched band with sentiment, a scalloped border and a funky flower (all from the MFT-Blueprint 3 dies).

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 81 – Shadow box card

Sidebarglorykleiner

For this challenge, we are asking you to create a shadow box card. I created my “shadow box” using the three largest circle dies from my MFT Stitched Round Stax set. I used various snowflakes dies by Lawn Fawn, Impression Obsessions, and Marianne Designs.

Step 1 – For my base layer 4.25 x 5.5  , I used a snow/dot patterned embossing folder to create the background.

Step 2 – I coloured the adorable Bugaboo - cscarf Cubby Snowman w/scarf (retired) with Copic and fussy cut him out and glued him to the card with the smallest circle cut out. I used Stampin Up dimensional to add a space between it and the base.

Step 3 – I  added snowflake die cuts to the card with the next sized circle cut out and added additional dimensionals to add space between it and the previous layer.

Step 4 – I added the final card with the largest circle cut out. I stamped on a sentiment from Avery Elle, and added more snowflake die cuts, plus some gems. Once again used dimensionals between layers.

Step 5 – I added the “shadow box” to a standard A2 card base.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 356 – 24th of March – Add some Bling

DTbadgeYou just have to love a challenge that requires adding “Bling”. I have a tendency to hoard my bling, so it is fun to be challenged to use some! I found this wonderful digi stamp by A Day for Daisies called 40s View. Those wonderful earrings were perfect to embellish! I started by colouring the beautiful lady with Copics. I then, using an oval die, cut her out and set aside. Next using some mirror-like foil card stock cut out a filigree oval by Spellbinders  Nestabilities – Oval Regalia Decorative Elements Dies – S4-492. I layered the pieces on my card base, then added the “bling” gemstones.

Simple Create Too – #105 – BE FUNNY/MAKE A JOKE

SC2 GROUP BADGEFor our challenge we are asking you to make a funny card or a joke card. I absolutely love this 3 part stamp by Penny Black called, “Naughty or Nice?”. I love both the little snowman and dog and how they interact. I laughed out loud when I first saw that stamp and knew I had to have it. It still makes me smile! I coloured the image with my Copic markers and, because the stamp is so long, created a 3.5 x  8.5 card that will fit  legal size envelop. For the sentiment, I used a border from a  Lawn Fawn Christmas paper.

naughty or nice

I look forward to seeing and reading your humorous cards!
