Gosh, with Christmas just around the corner, the CRAFT team is challenging you to make a Christmas card. For this week’s challenge I made two cards using Digi stamps by Deedees Digis.
Card 1 - I used DA Penguin and Whale from the Ice Fishing* set. I added a Christmas present (stamp from Mama Elephant) on top of the Orca’s nose to add to the Christmas theme. While this digi is available pre-colored, I opted to print the outline version and hand colour with Copic markers. *Note: This set includes: 4 outline images, 4 layering images, 4 pre-colored images, and 8 sentiments, in JPG and PNG formats. Also included are 3 printable 8.5×11-inch digital papers, in JPG format only. All set elements have a resolution of 300 dpi/ppi, and are easily resizable to fit your crafting needs.
Card 2 – I used Christmas Basket from Seasonal Baskets*. I made two versions of this card, simply switching up the papers in the background and sentiments (by Paper Smooches and Impression Obsession).*Note: This digital set includes: 6 outline images (includes bonus “Empty Basket” image!), 5 pre-colored images, 5 white-filled layering images, and 3 sentiments, in JPG and PNG file formats. All set elements have a resolution of 300 dpi/ppi, and are easily resizable to fit your crafting needs.
I hope to see your cards in our challenge. Please support our wonderful sponsors who graciously provide our prizes.
I make cards for the Belmont Nursing Home as a special “Pay it Forward” for the wonderful care they provided my Mother. They needed some thank you cards and unfortunately Sympathy card, so I made them up a variety of cards for their needs.
For the thank you cards, I used a stamp set by MFT - DC Thankful Thoughts, various Stampin Up inks and gems from my stash
For the sympathy cards, I decided to keep things simple and used various embossing folders. The sympathy sentiments come from Verve Stamps - Forever in our Hearts
Every year I put aside time to think about all the brave men and women who have served our country and secured our freedoms. Both my mother and father served in WWII, and after the war, my father was a major in the reserves.
As a part of Pay it Forward, I make greeting cards for all the residents at the Belmont Nursing home, who cared for my mother in her last years. They have 8 veterans, so I made up the card below as a special thank you to each of them.
The inside of the card reads:
On this day we honour, salute and thank, the past and present men and women who served our country. We are thinking of you this Remembrance Day. From Your Belmont Family
To make this card I used Clearly Besotted – BRUSHED POPPIES stamp set, MFT - BG Etched Flower Background, and Impression Obsession Thank You Die.
This week’s challenge is a Sketch Challenge. I used an adorable stamp by DRS Designs called Jenny Giraffe – 859G. I hand coloured the image with Copic markers, fussy cut it out and layered on pastel papers from my stash. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and Rolled Rose by MFT.
This challenge runs from November 5th until November 11th. Please join us. Also please support our great sponsors that provide us with our great prizes.
The 72nd challenge at The Glory of Christmas is Glitter and/or Shine. I opted to make a simple card using silver (Shine) and black. This was an extremely easy card to make. I was going for a formal and elegant look. I used an Avery Elle – Season’s Greetings die cut. I layered it on my card alternating silver and black. I replaced the die cut berries with silver gems.
Please join us. This challenge runs from November 1st until November 13th.
