Our current challenge at Simply Create Too – Favorite Color Challenge, or as we say in Canada – Favourite Colour Challenge! I love soft pastels colours, especially the light green – pink/purple tones. You will see I use this colour combo a lot. Funny thing though, I don’t use it in my clothing or home decor.
For my card I used a beautiful stamps called Aloha Petals by A Day for Daisies. I made a simple design to show off the pretty sun bather and my favorite colour combo. I used Copic markers to colour her, then framed her using Papertrey Ink – Cover Plate: Deco Die. I added a few pearls for accents.
The challenge runs from May 8th until May 21st. Please join us.
I entered my card into Tuesday Throwdown #243 -Flowers for Her
This week the CRAFT team challenge is a sketch. I used a digital stamp from our Sponsor - Imagine That – “Bouquet For…” I coloured the image with Copic Markers. Vs making a square card, I opted for thee standard A2. I used a couple of Spellbinders/JustRite dies, sentiment from SSS, and some flowers from my stash. I layered everything to fit within the sketch layout.
I love digi stamps because they are so versatile. I made a second card using the same digital stamp from our Sponsor - Imagine That – “Bouquet For…”. For this card. I enlarged the image, rotated it 20%, coloured it with Copics, and have a totally different looking card.
Please support our sponsors. Without them we would not be able to provide our fabulous prizes!
I entered my 2nd card into the following:
Dragons Lair Designs – A Bouquet of Flowers
Digitally Sweet – No. 134 – May – April Showers Bring May Flowers
Tuesday Throwdown #243 -Flowers for Her
The current challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Flight. With my Grandson’s second Birthday around to corner, and the theme, “Airplanes” I thought this was a perfect challenge. I started with Copic colouring, the Zlatoena Stamp – Rabbit Traveler Airplane, clouds and banner. (I created the banner through Corel Draw, and the clouds are hand drawn.) I fussy cut out all the pieces and set them set. I wanted a long card that would fit a legal size envelope, so I made the card 4 x 8.5. I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb wgt to 3.75 x 8.25. I coloured it with various blue Distress ink. I added it to the card front, added the clouds, then popped up the bunny/plane and banner. For that little extra, I attached the banner to the plane using twine and brads.
For our latest Challenge (58), The Glory of Christmas DT is asking you to focus on the sentiment. I used a digital sentiment from Sweet n Sassy called Jesus is the Reason for the Season. There are 9 sentiments included with this digi stamp download. They are perfect for both the inside and outside of your card.
Sweet n Sassy sentiment – Jesus is the Reason
Distress ink – Old Paper
Spellbinder dies – Ornate Squares & Fleur de Lis Motifs
Ribbon and pearls from my stash
Please join us! This Challenge runs from May 3rd until the 15th.
