Earth Day is April 27, 2015. I was looking for something appropriate for Earth Day and came across a fun stamp set by Paper Smooches called Birthday Buddies and it has a sentiment that says Happy B-Earth Day that is meant to be used with the “party earth worm” image. Well I got thinking about making a two-fer April card Birthday and Earth Day combo for a special children in my life, as well as a Earth Day Card for another.
First the first card, I used another Paper Smooches stamp set called Space Cadet. I coloured the little Spaceman and his ship with Copic marks, fussy cut them out and set them aside. I wanted to use the Large Circle Burst Die by Memory Box and put the Earth behind it. I did not have a stamp the correct size, so I die cut a circle 2.25″ and free handed the Earth then coloured it with Copics. When I assembled the card, I first glued the Earth to blue card stock. Next I glued the die cut front panel on top and attached both to the card base. I popped up the spaceman and ship on foam, then added a life line using cord from my stash. Finally I added the sentiment from PS – Birthday Buddies
For this card I planned it around the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch. When I saw this Challenge I immediately thought Earth – then Earth Day. I used the Small Circle Burst Die by Memory Box, hand draw the Earth, printed the Sentiment on my computer, and added the Professor and “props” images from PS - Smarty Pants. I coloured the images with Copics and fussy cut them out. I assembled the card so it looks like the teacher is trying to educate you about Earth Day.
I entered my cards into the following challenges:
