Glory of Christmas Challenge 53 – Red and Gold

I was able to create his card in less than 10 minutes. I used  5×7 Cardinal Kisses embossing folder by Couture Creations. I ran it through my big shot twice – once in gold and once in red. I then trimmed the red holly borders and cardinals the layered them on the gold. I added Joy die cut by PI. To finish the card, I added some red gems

Butterfly Challenge – #24 Butterflies + R is for Ribbon.

For the next two weeks, Mrs. A at the Butterfly Challenge is hosting Challenge #24 Butterflies + R is for Ribbon. I made a sympathy card using new butterfly dies I just received from Memory Box called LYDIA BUTTERFLY & SORONA BUTTERFLY. The first die is both an embossing and cut die.  To achieve the effect, I cut out the base butterfly in a patterned tone on tone paper from my stash. Next I die cut two of the filigree version and run them both through my big shot, once normally, and once with the rubber mat to emboss. I fussy cut out th floral details and popped them up with Stampin’ Up dimensions. I layered the butterfly on the Sunray embossing folder by Craft Concepts. I used a sentiment/die, With Sympathy/Vintage Labels Seven by JustRite. The ribbon, gems and pearls are from my stash.

Guest Designer – Crafting by Designs – Bingo Challenge

Last month I was asked by Crafting by Designs to be a Guest Designer in February. Their weekly challenge starting February 18th is a Bingo Challenge with an “Anything Goes” subject matter. I was very honoured to join in!

bingoI opted to go with Pearls/Die Cuts/Ribbon. I made two versions of my card: White on Red (more detail) & Red on White (simpler design). The heart die I used is Vernay Heart by Memory Box. The die has extra details, so I put it through my Big Shot twice, once to cut, and once with a rubber mat to emboss. For the white heart, I cut out the heart twice and fussy cut the flowers and then popped them up with foam tape for added dimension. The Love Script die is by Memory Box, the tag/heart is from Blueprints by MFT, and the stamped sentiment is from Paper Hugs by SSS. I added pearls and ribbon from my stash to complete the look.

Simply Create Too – Challenge #79 Anything Goes

The current challenge at Simply Create Too is Anything Goes. I decided to get the jump on St. Patrick’s Day. March 17th is very important to me because I was married on St. Patrick’s Day 1982. Ron has passed, but I still celebrate the occasion.

I used a stamp by Little Miss Muffets Stamps called Lucky Dog. I coloured him withCopics. I layered him with papers from my stash. I added a felt sticker by Recollections* (Michael’s brand) and a couple of gems. *Note: I always try to buy my stickers at Michael after the holiday when they are clearing them out at 75-90%off.
