Monster High

A friend’s daughter is celebrating her 6th birthday and she wants a “Monster High” themed party. Her mother asked me to create a special card that would play on theme. At this time there are no stamps available, so I found a free downloadable coloring pattern of the logo skull and Draculaura so I did some fancy tracing, paper piecing, and copic colouring and here is the card I developed! I also used a spellbinder die cut for the card front. The sentiment was computer generated.

I entered this card into the “femme fatale” girl’s birthday card challenge at Without Words. I thought the girl character really embraced the “theme”.

Silver Anniversary

I have friends celebrating their Silver Wedding Anniversary this summer so I decided to make a silver and white card. The butterfly embossing folder is by Darice, and the butterfly is by Memory Box. I am entering my card in this week’s challenge over at     CAS-ology.

Santa (Paper Tearing Technique)

Over at AAA Cards, their challenge this week is to make a card using two embossing techniques and a hint of pink. As I am being smart this year and making my Christmas cards early, I opted to make one for this challenge. I saw this paper tearing technique on Pinterest by Create by Dee some time ago and loved to simple yet effect design. For added interest, I embossed his beard, embossed the sentiment in Gold, added some sparkle with die cut snowflakes by PI, and use the stitched circle dies by MFT for his nose and eyes. I also added a little shimmer to his hat band with some Wink of Stella clear.

I also entered my card into the Glory of Christmas Challenge (red and white card) , CHNC challenge 181: include some gold or silver (or both) (I used gold embossing powder on sentiment & silver in the snowflake), CHCC for June Christmas, and new to me the folks over at C.R.A.F.T. have great challenges.

Peace and Joy

I am still working on my Christmas cards. I am almost half way through my 150 card quota. This week at Festive Friday, their photo inspiration shows a rustic cabin surrounded by snow and trees. I used a cute stamp by Penny Black – Christmas Cottage. I coloured it with Distress Markers and Distress Ink. I also added some 3d snow effect and white Wink of Stella. The dies are from Memory Box and Spellbinders.

I entered my card into CHPPC Monthly Draw for Patterned Paper cardCHCC-Anything Christmas  and for the first time I am entering the CRAFT Challenge.

Reel in a Wonderful Day

I have fallen in love with From the Heart Digi Stamps. They are all too stinking cute! I needed some “manly” cards, so I bought Fishing Birdbrain today. Their i {heart} sketch challenge was fabulous, and here is the results!
