The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 85 – Home of the Birth of Jesus

Please grab this button for your blog

For this challenge we are celebrating the birth place of Jesus. I made a very simple card. I started with blending various shaped of orange using my Tim Holtz distress Inks and the round head blending tool. The silhouette was created using a die from Taylored Expressions called, “Nativity Border”.  I used black card stock to accent the scene. This card took less than 10 minutes to create.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge #84: Christmas Sock

Sidebarglorykleiner

For our current challenge the Design Team chose the theme, “Christmas Sock”.  I decided to make a cute Sock Tag. The stocking shape was created using Stampin’ Up’s “Holiday Stocking Die” by Sizzix. I cut the pieces out using non-Christmas card stock and decorated it with a gem flourish from my stash. On the reverse I stamped To: & From:. For a little extra fun, I stamped and copic coloured a little elf from MFT’s, “BB Santa’s Elves”.

The Glory of Christmas #83 – Stamp or Digi only

Sidebarglorykleiner

Our focus for Challenge 83 is Stamp or Digi only. I absolutely love Penny Black’s, “Snow Family”. What says Christmas better than, not one but, three snowmen! I coloured the little family with my Copic Markers using bright and fun colours. I framed them with a coloured red snowflake patterned paper. The sentiment – let it snow – uses one of the die cuts by Penny Black called Joyous Wishes.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 82 – Make a Scene

Sidebarglorykleiner

For this Challenge, the design team challenges you to make a scene using your stamps, dies, punches, etc. I made a winter scene using two stamp sets: Let it Snow by Avery Elle and Winter Hills Stamp Set by Papertrey Ink.

I started by stamping the blocked house scene, and larger house. I coloured the roofs and front door with my Copic Markers. Next I created the card front. I hand cut a hill template, then sponged light blue ink to create the snow covered hills. Next using the same ink I stamped the snowflakes. I added the tree, snowman, and hand drew the path. I fussy cut out the larger house and attached it to the card front with SU dimensions. I cut out the blocked scene and created a banner. I backed it with light blue card stock and attached to card with dimensions. I added a die cut snowflake I had lying on my desk. Finally I backed the card on the same light blue card stock and taped to card base.

The Glory of Christmas – Challenge 81 – Shadow box card

Sidebarglorykleiner

For this challenge, we are asking you to create a shadow box card. I created my “shadow box” using the three largest circle dies from my MFT Stitched Round Stax set. I used various snowflakes dies by Lawn Fawn, Impression Obsessions, and Marianne Designs.

Step 1 – For my base layer 4.25 x 5.5  , I used a snow/dot patterned embossing folder to create the background.

Step 2 – I coloured the adorable Bugaboo - cscarf Cubby Snowman w/scarf (retired) with Copic and fussy cut him out and glued him to the card with the smallest circle cut out. I used Stampin Up dimensional to add a space between it and the base.

Step 3 – I  added snowflake die cuts to the card with the next sized circle cut out and added additional dimensionals to add space between it and the previous layer.

Step 4 – I added the final card with the largest circle cut out. I stamped on a sentiment from Avery Elle, and added more snowflake die cuts, plus some gems. Once again used dimensionals between layers.

Step 5 – I added the “shadow box” to a standard A2 card base.
