C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 408 – 23rd of March – Add a Charm

DTbadgeThis week’s challenge to open to any type of card with the challenge of adding a charm. I make jewelry from time to time and have quite a few charms in my stash. I opted to use this adorable stamp by MFT called Spring has Sprung. I stamped it on kraft paper using Versafine Tuxedo Black and coloured it with Copics and a white gel pen. To add some drama,  I tore on edge and backed it on a crimped neutral card stock. I added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn, wrapped some twine around the card front and tied on a cute little sun charm.

C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 405 – Sketch

Sketch 020317This week’s challenge is a Sketch Challenge. I used Barnaby Bee by Digital Delights. I coloured Barnaby with my Copic markers and added sparkle to his wings with clear Wink of Stella. I layered him using dimensionals to make him pop off the cards and created the background with paper from my stash. The final touch was three gems.

C.R.E.A.T.E. – Challenge 404 – 23rd of February – Mothers’ Day/Female

DTbadge

This week’s challenge is to make a card for a female or Mother’s Day. I thought this would be a great time to try out my new Minc machine. I used a beautiful silhouette digi by  Pickled Potpourri called Just Dance. I printed it out on my laser printer using both white and black card stock. I used a rainbow affect silver foil in the Minc machine. I made both a birthday card for a wonderful little ballerina, and a couple of Mother’s Day cards. NOTE: Because of the foil, it was very hard to photograph!

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 383 – 29th of September – Fantasy

DTbadge

For this challenge, our fabulous leader, Jo, thought Fantasy who be a fun challenge to tackle. I can’t wait to see all the creative cards this week! I selected a fun digi called 3 Wishes by Melonheadz. I coloured my card using my brand new Zig Real Brush watercolour markers. Wow, they are very bold and bright. Love them! I made three versions of this card using the theme of birthday “wishes”. The sentiments are from Hero Arts.

My Mediterranean Cruise & Crop with Cathie Rigby

I just got back from an amazing holiday! With almost 3 years in the planning, my girlfriend, Pearl, and I took an amazing trip to Europe – Paris, Barcelona, Nice, Tuscany, Roman, Amalfi Coast, Venice, Ravenna, and Kotor. Best trip ever! The beauty about a Cruise and Crop is that you Crop during the sailing days. Our Crop leader, Cathie Rigby did not disappoint! Here are  few of the fun things we made on the cruise.

Note: I did not discuss the “how to” techniques of these projects out of respect for the teacher. These projects are based on Cathie Rigby’s designs/techniques, taught to us by her in a classroom environment on the Cruise and Crop. Cathie offers retreats, classes, online instruction, and Cruise and Crops. Her next adventure is a cruise from Australia to New Zealand! For details about Cathie and her multiple talents, visit her at her website at Cathie’s Craft Room - http://www.creativecutterroom.com/ . She is a fabulous instructor and I am happy to call her my friend. The classes were small and intimate. We had a great bunch of ladies in the classes, and their friends and families joined us for dinner and some of the shore excursions. As I said before - Best Trip Ever!
