C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 425 – 20th of July – Christmas

DTbadge

It is Christmas in July! It is never too early to start making Christmas cards for 2017. For my card I used a digital image from Dilly Beans called, “Holly Framed Penguin.” I coloured the little critter with my Derwent Inktense Coloured Pencils. I added added a sprig of holly from my Stampendous, “Die & Rubber Stamp Set Pop Up Winter Tweets Birds Free Us.” The background paper acts as my sentiment.

  CCT - Design For Badge

When I saw our new challenge was rainbow, I immediately thought of the Framed Snowman digi stamp by Dilly Bean Stamps. I tried to make him as colorful as possible even using Copic Makersand a colourful Striped background. The sentiment is from Penny Black – Festive Snippets.

Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge Extra Mid-July

chnc-challenge-extra-dt-button

This challenge will last for the whole month of July 2017 – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas – it doesn’t have to be a card, you can link any project as long as it’s Christmas!

Once again this year, all of these monthly challenges are being generously sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - a winner will be randomly chosen using random.

Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge – they are offering 4 digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.

For my card I started by creating a night sky. I did this by using watercolour paper. I taped it down to a flat surface. I wet the paper using a wide paint brush, then using a round brush added various random spots of colour – yellow, pink, orange, blue, purple. Once dry, I added the top with black leaving bits of the colour to peek through. I left it dry again, then splattered white ink to act as stars. I used Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. Next I coloured a Bugaboo stamp*, called “WRF Up”  *this stamp has been discontinued. Bugaboo added new stamps monthly, and several times a year discontinue older images. Check out their site, and sign up for their weekly newsletter! I fussy cut him out and added him to my night sky. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

Sketch 060717

This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge. For my card I used an oval verses a circle and adjusted the sketch to fit a standard A2 card format. I used a digi from Delicious Doodles, called “On the Lookout”. I stop coloured it with my Copics. Next I cut it out using my oval Dienamics from MFT. I cut out some white embossed card stock and layered it according to the sketch.
