Joy – Jesus’s Birth

I picked an adorable stamp by Sweet n’ Sassy called Joy to the World. I coloured the image with Copic markers. While I have the matching dies, I fussy cut out the images. For the background, I used Frantic Stamper Precision Die – Corner Sun Rays Quilt Panel. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

White and Silver Snowy

When I started to colour “Snowy” by Penny Black, my intention was to colour his hat and scarf, add rosy cheeks and use bright Christmas themed papers. I had my BG10 Copics marker out that I use a lot to add dimension to whites (I usually always do this last), next I coloured his nose and put the image aside. A week later I decided I would finish the colouring, but after looking at it, I loved the simplicity so I left it as is. Next I fussy cut him out, and popped his up on a snowflake diecut silver background and added it to the card front. The die is from Impression Obsessions called Snowflake Background. I double stamped the sentiment using a stamp from Avery Elle’s – Let it Snow.

Simply Too Create – JULY 8-22 #113- USE RED, WHITE, OR BLUE

Simply Too Create DTFor our challenge we are asking you to create a card using red, white or blue. Well I decided to use all three colours. I found this fabulous stamp while I was shopping at Crop A While in Ottawa. It is called ”Happy as a Clam” by Carabelle Studio – Art Stamp. It was the stars on the fin that “sold” me. I first tried stamping and white embossing the fish and water colouring, but I felt too much detail was missing, so I re-did it using black ink. I used various red and blue Distress inks. For the background images, I used stamps from Designs By Ryn - Leafy Branch (CM-F15), Kelp (CM-S9), and the single fish from School of Fish Set (CM-S12).

The Glory of Christmas #80: Re-use/Recycle Old Christmas Card

This week the Design Team challenges you to re-purpose an old Christmas card. I received a wonderful card with a beautiful red folded door that was the perfect size for one of Prima’s Julie Nutting’s Dolls. I selected “Tasha”. I stamped her on a lightly patterned Prima tag ans coloured her hair and shaded the body with Copic markers. Next I stamped the dress on two different patterned papers and paper pieced the dress on the doll figure. I fussy cut her out and glued to the Christmas card. For the final touches, I added a few gems for earrings, necklace, and belt.
