This week’s challenge at C.R.A.F.T. the design team is looking for a Father’s Day or Male card. My card was made using a clear stamp set by Sweet n Sassy – Tender Thoughts Clear Stamp Set. I started by creating the background using Distress Inks. I then stamped the deer and trees multiple times using my Misti.

For our 414th Challenge we are asking you to try to make a 3D Decoupage project. This is one technique I do not do often so it is a challenge to me. My friend, Pearl, purchased a 3D Precut Card kit Cross Cut Out with Candle & Flowers sold through Ecstasy Crafts.
There were enough pieces in the kit to complete 8 different cards. The pieces are all precut so it is just a matter of assembling the 3D images. I used to two laser card card bases, and made to extra cards with black and white card stock. The sentiments are die cuts and stamps from Avery Elle and Verve. I made them all up as sympathy cards.
Please check out and support our weekly sponsor’s websites, who graciously provide our weekly/monthly prizes.
This week we have a sketch challenge. Our sponsor for this challenge is DRS Designs. They have the coolest set of stained glass stamps that allow you to convert your regular stamps into “faux” stained glass panels. For my card I am using Large Stained Glass – 1133P, but they also have an arched, oval, and small rectangle versions. For the flower pattern, I used Delicious Doodles – Apple Blossom. For my other examples, I used three different flower digis from A Day of Daisies. Vs me trying to tell you how do use this stamp, I will refer you to a YouTube Video by the Frugal Crafter – Lindsay Weirich - Stained Glass Look With Any Stamp. To color my images I used Derwent Watercolour Pencils on Neenah Solar White 80lb paper.

This week’s challenge is a colour challenge. I had some funny with my distress inks and trying to blend the greens and blues. For the red/pink tone, I simply mqtted the final image on a rose card stock. To make the coloured background, I took various distress inks and smooshed them on my craft matt. Next I sprayed the inks with water, and smooshed a piece of watercolour paper into the ink. I repeated this process until I got the desired finish. Once dry I stamped the paper with a silhouette windflower stamp by Magenta Stamps called Wildflowers – Umbells. The Sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

I make cards for the Belmont Nursing Home as a special “Pay it Forward” for the wonderful care they provided my Mother. They needed some thank you cards and unfortunately Sympathy card, so I made them up a variety of cards for their needs.
For the thank you cards, I used a stamp set by MFT - DC Thankful Thoughts, various Stampin Up inks and gems from my stash
For the sympathy cards, I decided to keep things simple and used various embossing folders. The sympathy sentiments come from Verve Stamps - Forever in our Hearts
