Royal “Purple” Wedding

I normally make cards, simply for the enjoyment. Every now and then I get a special request from a friend to make a special something-something. My friend, T-Max, has a friend getting married aboard and can’t attend, but wants a super special card to congratulate the hapy couple. Their wedding colour is royal purple. I used Man & Bride, and sentiment from PI, and various Spellbinder dies. I added ribbon, pearls, and a hatpin to complete the look. After a little planning, this is the final card I made.

I entered my card into Glitter n Sparkles Challenge – Add purple and The Cutie Pie Challenge – Love and Marriage

Bride and Groom

The Die Cuttin Divas‘ Challenge #173 is Wedding/Anniversaries. One thing I love is using dies and punches. While I can fussy cut, I love the quality of dies!. I have a great wedding set from PI – Man and Wife. I inlaid the PI – Deco Die background in two contrasting colours. Finally I added some 3D flowers made with Nellie’s 2 part petal and leaf punches/shapers. The sentiment is also from PI - Gatsby Glamour Stamp Set. I made card as a vertical and horizontal versions (reversing the background colours).

Silver Anniversary

I have friends celebrating their Silver Wedding Anniversary this summer so I decided to make a silver and white card. The butterfly embossing folder is by Darice, and the butterfly is by Memory Box. I am entering my card in this week’s challenge over at     CAS-ology.

Wednesday Sketch Challenge at Outlawz

For this week’s Outlawz Sketch challenge, I made a fairly simple 5×5 card. I dry embossed the background with a floral embossing folder by Anne Griffin from Provo Crafts. The corner accents are from MFT, The center dies cuts are from JustRite, and the stamp is from Annabella Stamps. I silver embossed “Best Wishes” to match the silver ribbon.

Creating a Gatefold Card

Recently I have been challenging myself to make different types of cards using different styles and techniques One of the best ways to do this is to join in a challenge. This week I joined “The Outlawz“, and these gals are very inviting. They host a different challenge opportunity every day!. The Thursday Challenge is anything goes with a twist, and that twist is a gatefold card. I have never made one before, and my honorary daughter and son (in-law) are having their 3rd wedding anniversary at the nd of this month, so I deided to give it a go.

One talented card making/paper crafter I have admired for the past year is Becca Feeken from Amazing Paper Grace . She makes amazing cards. I tend to make CAS cards, but I have always wanted to make some more elaborate designs. She posted a video on her web and YouTube about making a gatefold card, so I reviewed the video and went for it. I added my own twist. This is the url to the video

I used a number of dies. The sentiments were created on the computer. PI – Man and Wife, Memory Box – Queen of Hearts flourish / Sweet Heart dies, MFT - Die-namics Designer Labels 2 STAX, and Spellbinders - Gilded Gate Two / Elegant Ovals. The only part of making a GATE FOLD CARD is trying to show all the facets of it. I have included inside and back photos as well.

I also entered my card into the Wednesday’s Creative Inspirations Challenge 260 for their pink and red card challenge. I the only colour I used in this card were various shades of pink-red with Black & White.

Update: My card was selected as a favorite by the Splitcoast Stamping Forum for the week ending April 20, 2014. For more information see post #14 at
