It is that popular wedding season again. We are challenging you to make a wedding card(s) this month. I actually made two different cards, pus a thank you card for the minister.
Card 1 – I used a digi stamp by A Day for Daisies called, “Wedding Veil.” I started by colouring the images with my Copics. It is really hard to notice, but I added some clear Wink of Stella to the Veil. I cut it out into an oval using my oval dies from MFT. I also cut a large Flourish using another die by MFT. I used a very pretty printed vellum as my background and layered the image and flourish. For the finally touch I added some gemstones.
For Card 2: I used a fun digi from Tiddley Inks called, “You and Me.” I decided to stay fairly neutral so I gray tones with skin and hair colours only. I cut thr image and background oval using my oval dies from MFT. Again I layered coloured vellum over a printed card stock. I used 4 gems to hid to glue dots I used to secure the corners.
Card 3: I made to be given to the minister after the ceremony. I included a small envelop and a slot to hold it inside the card for the donation to the church. For this card I relied on the beauty of the card stock. I cut it to suit the 5×7 card format, mini envelop, slot, and card envelop. The Thank you die is from IO.

With the New Year, we have a new Design Team logo created by our fabulous leader Angie!
For the first challenge for SCT I used a wonderful digis stamp by Tiddly Inks called, “You and Me.” I coloured the image using Copic Markers. The papers and love sticker were from my stash. The flowers were created with my 2 part punches by Nellie Snellen.
Our challenge runs from January 6th until the 27th. (Note that our challenges run monthly vs every 2 weeks). Please join us!
I made this special anniversary card for a very special young couple. Happy Anniversary Heather and Mat.
I started off by using Distress inks to form a “sunset” background. Next using some new dies from Impression Obsession – Couple Sitting & Bench, I created a couple watching the sunset. I used MFT - FRESH CUT GRASS Die-Namics to ground the image, and the sentiment die cut “love” from Tim Holtz - Sizzix HANDWRITTEN LOVE Thinlits Dies
I entered this card into the following challenges:
Less is More - Colour Challenge Week 218 - Predominantly Black! (The main subject is black)
Get Creative Challenge - Ch. #11- Must Use A Die Cut
Fresh Brewed Designs - The Sky’s The Limit
Creative Knockouts – Use dies or punches
For our challenge this week we have a Shades of Blue” colour challenge. I decided to work a little bit with watercolours (both Distress Markers and Derwent Inktense Pencils) I ended up with three variations. I used Dove with Branch & Doves with Bow by Pattie’s Creations Digital Images.
Card 1: I made the digi to fit the full size of my A2 card. I printed the Dove on a light weight watercolour paper. I pulled various Distress Markers from Gray to Dark blue. I coloured them on an acrylic block, added water, and painted the dove using an aquabrush. I finished the card by layering it on blue card stock, and added Peace die cut from PI.
Card 2: is a little more ethereal. I used my Derwent Pencils for this card. I started by lightly painting water (no colour) flowing from behind the dove. Next I touched my aquabrush to the pencil then blended the colours to the paper edges. I also added a little colour to the wings and bird’s body. While I added another Peace die cut from PI, I think this card would work well as a Sympathy card.
Card 3 I “painted” the complete background to resemble sky. Again I used Distress markers. I didn’t watercolour the ribbon bow – that was Distress marker straight on dry watercolour paper. I thought this card would make a great Wedding or Anniversary Card. I used three dies from Spellbinders - Labels Thirty-Four, A2 Tranquil Moments, and Gold Labels Thirty-Four. I added a blue ribbon to mimic the one the birds are holding.
The challenge runs from January 1st until January 7th, 2015. Hope you will join us
One of the first things I ever purchased from Stampin’ Up was their Bird Builder punch. (I also have a number of coordinating stamps). I needed a fast anniversary card, a because the couple is not into “fancy” cards, I decided to keep it simple. I used an embossing folder as the background, a Woodland Branch die from Memory Box, a small heart shaped punch by EK Success, and the Bird Builder punch. The sentiment is from SSS. I made the card from kraft cardstock.
Because I like the “bling”, I also made a card in white on white, switching out the embossing folder, and adding pearls.
I entered my first card (Kraft) into the House of Cards - October Challenge: Punches & Dies CAS
I entered my second card (White) into Lunagirl Moonbeams - PUT A BIRD ON IT challenge
