C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 394 – 15th of December – Christmas

Our challenge for this week is Christmas. I recently took a workshop with Keren Tamir from Prima and she showed us various ways to make multi-media tags and cards. We used various foil rub-ons, sprays, flowers, pastes, pearls, ribbons, etc. Here are my cards and tags.

My Mediterranean Cruise & Crop with Cathie Rigby

I just got back from an amazing holiday! With almost 3 years in the planning, my girlfriend, Pearl, and I took an amazing trip to Europe – Paris, Barcelona, Nice, Tuscany, Roman, Amalfi Coast, Venice, Ravenna, and Kotor. Best trip ever! The beauty about a Cruise and Crop is that you Crop during the sailing days. Our Crop leader, Cathie Rigby did not disappoint! Here are  few of the fun things we made on the cruise.

just for you

Note: I did not discuss the “how to” techniques of these projects out of respect for the teacher. These projects are based on Cathie Rigby’s designs/techniques, taught to us by her in a classroom environment on the Cruise and Crop. Cathie offers retreats, classes, online instruction, and Cruise and Crops. Her next adventure is a cruise from Australia to New Zealand! For details about Cathie and her multiple talents, visit her at her website at Cathie’s Craft Room - . She is a fabulous instructor and I am happy to call her my friend. The classes were small and intimate. We had a great bunch of ladies in the classes, and their friends and families joined us for dinner and some of the shore excursions. As I said before - Best Trip Ever!

Poppies with Heather Telford

I had another opportunity to take a class with Heather Telford. The class she had for us this week was a watercolour “square”. We made a tag first to test the technique, then we took on the finally project. Both were both fabulous! I am an absolute “Heather” fan. Check out her blog, and the Penny Black Designer Team blog to see her works!

If you are ever in the Ottawa area, check out taking one of her classes! She is a wonderful teacher.

Prima Cowgirl Tag

I love all the Prima Dolls by Julie Nutting. My roommate’s Aunt has a birthday this weekend and I was asked to make her a card…I made a tag with a stand up easel instead. Aunt Leslie is a very young at heart country girl who loves line dancing, so Prima doll “Becky” was the perfect choice! I paper pieced her outfit in blue toned patterned papers, coloured her with Copics. I free-styled a railed wood fence from some wood grained paper by Kaiser. Some of the accents included black gems, crystal flourish, 3d kraft butterflies, twine cord, ribbon, and a mini tag (all from my stash).

I entered my tag/card into a “New” challenge called A Crafty Mess – Challenge 1 Anything Goes (Please support them!) and Moving Along with the Times - ”Sparkle and/or Shine”

Throwback Thursday Challenge #2 at Stamping with Bibiana

Stamping with Bibiana has a great Challenge on her Blog. It is called Throwback Thursday, and invites you to re-post an old favorite blog post from the past, that applies to a theme. In this case, the theme is Halloween. I have only been recording my cards and entering challenges since January of this year. My earliest “Halloween” post was my Prima Doll October Tag from my “Nuts about Nutting” post from January 2014. Your can see the full blog post here.

October - Trick or Treat (2)

I love Julie Nutting’s Dolls by Prima. I  have them all! I was even lucky enough to take a cruise this June to Alaska, and took a course with her while on-board. It was fantastic. I made a tag for each month using the first 2 doll releases. I paper pieced her dress, and added die cuts from MFT and Cottage Kutz.

I missed the deadline for the challenge, but decided to post it anyway. Cheers
