When I saw our new challenge was rainbow, I immediately thought of the Framed Snowman digi stamp by Dilly Bean Stamps. I tried to make him as colorful as possible even using Copic Makersand a colourful Striped background. The sentiment is from Penny Black – Festive Snippets.
I am sorry I was a little late posted our current challenge. This challenge is based on a Sketch. I used an adorable stamp from Lili of the Valley Stamps called, “Present Trio.” This stamp is really not a Christmas stamp, but I thought I would improvise. I started with colouring the little bears with my Copic markers. Next I fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from a Lawn fawn Christmas based 6 x 6 paper pad. Once I adhered the images and sentiment, I added some die cut snowflakes from Marianne Designs to give the card a more festive feel. The finally touches were adding clear Wink of Stella to the presents, glossy accents to the bears noses, and a few gems.
Our Challenges run two weeks. Please join us, we would love to see your festive creations.
I love this challenge because I challenged myself to make a Christmas Card designed specifically for a boy. I used Tim Holtz’s Christmas Stamps. Their were 4 stamps in this group: tree, snowman, toy soldier, and snowflake. Note: You can also buy them as individual stamps. I stamped and coloured the soldier 4 times. I used the dull image for the base and inked the areas around the soldier with various brown distress inked. The actual soldier, I coloured with Copics. I then fussy cut his head, hat, gloves, boots, and crossed embellishments and layered them on the base using foam dimensionals. I also distressed the card stock around the toy soldier image and added amber gems and natural twine.
Please let us help you get your Christmas card stash going. Hope to see your cards!
I just purchased some stamps from Woodware Stamps from their Bubble Blooms series. This one is called, Bubble Bloom- Festive Tree Christmas Clear Stamp JGS355. I pulled out my hoard of gems, pearls, and enamel dots. It took a long time to set all the pieces but the results were worth it. I framed the sentiment (included) and image with red foil and layered on plain white card stock as to not detract from the gem tree. I also have three more stamps that are flower designs, watch for those cards in an upcoming blog.
I look forward to seeing your “gems”. Please join us!
For this Colour Challenge, we are asking you to try to make a card using yellow, gold, and kraft. I used a simple design made up with two fishtail banners, a tree die cut and a star punch. To add interest, I used a wood grain kraft card stock as the base, a patterned kraft card stock for the thin banner, and two tone kraft/yellow card stock for the wide banner. In the wide banner, I cut out a negative tree shape and backed it with gold card stock and decorated it three yellow stars. I also decorated the inside of the card with the tree shape and topped it with a star. The sentiment is from SSS.
