C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 464 – 19th of April – New (Home, Baby, Job, etc)

The C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 464 is all about “NEW” – new baby, new job, new home, New Year’s, etc. I decided to create a card for a new car. I used Bugaboo’s - Gus Tidbits – New Truck. I coloured Gs and his truck with Copic markers and added a little chrome detail, plus glossy accents on his spectacles. This digital stamp also comes with a funny sentiment which I added to the inside of the card. I love Gus and Bugaboo has numerous digital stamps based on this character and his wife.

C.R.A.F.T. – Challenge 460 – 22nd of March – Spring/Easter

It is the end of March and “hopefully” Sring is in the air! The CRAFT design team challenges you to make a Spring or Easter card. I think of Spring and I automatically think of flowers. For this challenge, I used a beautiful digi by Eureka Stamps called, “Abstract Flower Digital Stamp”. I printed the images using my laserjet printer and Cannonwatercolour paper.I coloured it with watercolour paints - Finetec MICA WATERCOLOR PEARLESCENT Paint 6, ig Kuretake Gansai Tambi 24 COLOR SET, and Prima watercolour crayons. The Hello die is from Impression Obsessions.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 455 – 15th of February – Mothers’ Day/Female

The CRAFT CHALLENGE this week is to make a Mother’s Day or Female Card. I have a friend who loves everything “Pug”, so when I discovered this stamp by CARABELLE STUDIO called, “To Be or Not To Be”, I just had to make her a card. I started by colouring the dog with Copic markers to match her own little pug. Next, I die cut it out using a double stitched circle die from MFT, selected a paper with picture frames, added glass frames from dies by Taylored Expressions, and finished with adding Glossy Accents to the pug’s glasses.

Outlawz – Thursday with a Twist – June 22nd*

*I made the two cards shown below for next week’s challenge, “Anything Goes” but they were accidentally posted for this week’s challenge. The reason I mention this is because they really don’t depict “Fun in the Sun.” They were able to add the correct cards so these are sort of  a bonus. Things happen, sorry for any confusion.  - Myrna

Hello everyone. I was invited to be a guest designer for the month of June by the DT team at Outlawz. You can join for free! They have a fabulous blog – full of challenges, tutorials, forum, freebies, gallery and more. I am designing for their Thursday Twist Challenges. This challenge is “open” with a added twist each week. This week’s Twist is “Anything Goes.”  I designed two different cards for this challenge. Click on the link below to find out more about this fabulous group! The Outlawz ChallengesI made two cards for this challenge.

Card 1: For my first card, I was going for a vintage feel. I used various stamps from Tim Holtz and one of his newer dies called, Dapper.” I used a retired background stamp by JustRite for the card background, brown card stock, dimensional foam tape, and distress inks to add dimension/texture. The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps, called “Vintage Sentiments.”

Card 2: I wanted to make a more modern, colourful card for my second card. I used a stamp set from Psper Smooches called, “Metropolis.” I coloured the images with Copic Markers.I fussy cut everything out. Next I arranged the cityscape and glued everything to the base card. The final step was adding the sentiment. I used a SU tag punch to cut the sentiment out. I cut a duplicate tag in red, cut it in half, then outlined the sentiment. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps called, “Vintage Sentiments.”
