Simply Create Too – Challenge #141 – 8/3 to /8/31 – Create a Bookmark

1 Simply Create 2 DT

Our monthly challenge at Simply Create Too! is to create a bookmark. Well, I couldn’t just make a bookmark, I had to make a card with a bookmark, then a separate bookmark to match the same theme. For my project, I used stamps from Honey Bee Stamps - UNDER THE SEA and ZEN OCEAN. I started by stamping the Zen Sea with Versamark Ink, adding black embossing powder then colouring it with TH Oxide Inks. The mermaids were embossed with gold embossing powder and coloured with Copic markers. Next I fussy cut them out and set aside. I used an older die and stamp set from Our Daily Bread to make the bookmarks (retired). I also used a you sentiment from SSS and Celebrate die set from Hero Arts.

This week the CRAFT Design Team challenges you to make a card for Summer! I started my quest looking for a summer paper and found a perfect one in my Couture Creations – Sea Breeze 6 x 6 paper pack. Next, I stamped an Impression Obsession image called Blue Booby. I think he and the sentiment (from the same set) were perfect. I coloured him with Copics. I fussy cut him out and inked the edge of the cardstock with a black marker.

This week the C.R.A.F.T. Design Team is looking for a project that focuses on Outdoors Play. I selected an adorable digital stamp called, “Captain Owen” by Paper Nest Dolls. I made two versions of this stamp. I started by printing the image in two different sizes and coloured Owen with my Copic Markers. To embellish the card I used various papers, wooden pieces, die cuts from my stash.

Please join the C.R.A.F.T. for our monthly colour challenge. For my card, I decided to try to match the colours and create a blended background using Distress Ink on Neehan Solar White Cardstock. For the images, I used a funny digi set by Oddball Art Company – Kawaii Panda Bears Digital Stamp Set – Panda Pack Image No.316 by Lizzy Love. The leaves and sentiment are from Happy Pandas by MFT.
